Dave's Supermarkets was founded in the late 1920's when Alex Saltzman, the first of five generations of grocers, hung up reins in his horse drawn produce wagon and opened the first corner family store at 33rd and Payne Avenue in Cleveland. The store was named for Alex's son, Dave who succeeded his father in the business.
Dave's Mercado was launched at our Ridge Road location in 2007 to serve the needs of Cleveland's Growing Hispanic community. Expanded Hispanic Produce selections include tropical items such as plantains, guines verdes, cilantro and a complete variety of Hispanic roots. Find edam cheeses and flan cakes in the Mercado Deli along with the largest variety of bacala in Cleveland in the Seafood Department.

We went here out of curiosity.
It was a bustling place.
The offerings were amazing! They had food cafes inside offering many different ethnic cuisines, Bakery, deli, and other foods ready and available for takeout.
The grocery store had so many choices. It covered the gamut of seemingly every possible food to make practically any meal that you could wish to make.
It was a wonderful experience!

I enjoyed my first experience at Dave's as I have recently moved here. I was warmly greeted as I walked in. Staff was available for questions. Produce was fresh and a decent selection. While their gluten free products are sparse, there were some frozen items available so I walked out with the food I needed.

The attitude of the workers are sad. I asked them to move the Turkey Antipasta away from the ham and they said no. I don't eat pork and haven't for over 17+ years. I don't understand why they feel that the cross contamination for this is ok. If you don't eat pork I wouldn't eat this at all. If I was the owner I would check this real soon because this a lawsuit. This just saddens my heart. Someone needs to fix this ASAP💔💔☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

I love this store. They closed a few smaller stores in the area to open this location and they did a great job making it nicer and larger than the old ones. However... There are never enough cashiers at key times!! There's no excuse for having at least half of the registers closed and a dozen or more customers in each the 3 remaining open lines.

Grocery Store / Liquor store all in one.
Was on my way to a celebration and decided to BYOB. This place was stocked with fresh food and had a liquor store in side. If you walk into the Liquor store, everyone one have ID (even if you are no the one purchasing anything). There are signs stating this but honestly they were barely visible.
Prices were cheap. Huge surface parking lot.

Oh my goodness! Passed by this place many times wanting to stop in and today I finally did. What a blessing! The store is much bigger than I thought from the outside. It's a grocery store with a pharmacy as well as a food counter where you can order lunch or dinner. The selection here was amazing, store was very clean, and every employee I had the pleasure to meet was very friendly and helpful. Definitely coming here again!

This particular store is actually called DAVE's MERCADO as it caters to the Latino community and specializes in Latino food products. Dave's is locally owned and operated by an Ohio family w a history of several generations in the grocery store business. (Check out their website.) I appreciate that Dave's consciously caters to the community in which their stores are located. This is a clear decision that they've made and communicated, and it shows. At 3565 Ridge Rd the employees look like the shoppers - I appreciate this as well. They are bi-lingual and knowledgeable of not
