Gum disease, also knows as gingivitis and periodontal disease, is a leading cause of tooth loss. Approximately 75% of people in the United States have had issues with gum disease. There are different varying degrees of gum disease. If it is detected early, it can be managed effectively with many treatment modalities offered at Avon Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.
A chipped tooth is defined by a tooth breaking above the gumline and a portion of the outer enamel layer completely separating. This often occurs as the result of trauma or impact to the face and mouth. Small fractures or "chips" involving only the tooth enamel are the least severe and pose the least risk of potential tooth loss.
A cavity is when bacteria gets and multiplies within inner layers of a tooth and produces acid which erodes one or more layers of your tooth. It is actually an infection inside your tooth, and we know that it can lead to increased bacterial load in your bloodstream and your body. Your overall well-being and total health is important to us, which is why we're not all about "drilling and filling" and just managing your cavities.

Dr. Rakesh is a perfectionist and one of the best dentist in the areas.
Even though he was not my primary dentist, I had called him over last Saturday weekend late evening for a help in pain of my tooth ( when my primary dentist did not had an emergency ph number to contact in case of emergency ) and was on call with me to issue the medication to reduce my pain and even talk to pharmacy mid-night to help me in prescription. Pain was reduced for Sunday and was able to wait for Monday.
Monday he looked into detail and spent a lot of time with utmost patience on the issue and referred me to other

What an excellent experience I had with Dr. Kumar and his staff. I broke a tooth and was very quickly given an appointment for a crown fitting...the practice has an efficiency and expertise when working combined with a gentle warmth to make me feel at ease. Outcome was superb, painless and I am now pain free. Could not recommend this practice highly enough, THANK YOU!

I am very impressed with Dr. Kumar. He is very easy to talk to, and sincerely wanted to know what he could do to make me happy/comfortable. My cleaning was painless and thorough (I love laser!). I am a chicken when it comes to dentists (or pain in general) . . . so I am very happy to have found my new dentist!
