Indian Island Winery is a farm winery with grapes grown in our own vineyard and other local growers. Indian Island Winery is a family operated business owned by Ray and Lisa Winter in partnership with son Tom, daughter Angie, and daughter-in-law Angela. Our winery was built on a site once used by Native Americans as a summer hunting camp. Teeming with wildlife, the land once was nearly 100% surrounded by water. Throughout past years, many artifacts have been found keeping us intrigued by the history of these grounds.
Services
Indian Island Winery became an extension to the vineyard and nurseries. After nearly three years of construction, the winery is now open. We produce fine wine from grapes grown from our own vineyard and other local growers. Grapes include cold hardy varieties such as Frontenac, LaCrescent, Marquette, St. Croix, Brianna, and many others.
Indian Island Winery is proud to annouce its award winning wines. We have recently entered in the 2015 Riverside Wine Competition and won Gold medals on both the LaCrescent and Frontenac Rose' wines! LaCrescent was also Best of Class! In the 2015 Mid American Wine Competition LaCrescent and Midnight Fantasy both won Silver Medals and the Marquette and Frontenac Rose wine won Bronze medals!
Indian Island Winery can only ship to certain states due to various state laws. Any other state we cannot ship to at this time. Island Smoke - $14.95 + tax 750mL Semi-Dry white blend with Prairie Star and Louise Swenson (both Elmer Swenson varieties). Aged lightly with American Oak Chips with hints of pear and citrus.
The fee is $25 person which needs to be paid in full at the time of registration. The $25 fee includes entrance to the event, participation in the grape stomp, and a free t-shirt. We need your address and contact information so that we can send you certificates for each person participating thus you can participate the day of the event.
Vendor show in November will be from 12pm-4pm. Doors will open for setting up at 11am. Payment confirms your spot is secured. Finally, send us BOTH the Vendor Show Application and the Operator Certificate of Compliance by email to angie.winter@indianislandwinery.com or by mail to 18018-631st Ave, Janesville, MN 56048.

We rented a room for a birthday party. Never was given a contract, just word. A couple weeks before event I went out to pay the balance and talk about set up. I was told they get the balance that day because no one except Ray knows what was agreed to. But I was assured we were in the calendar for that day. The day of our party, the staff were surprised by our arrival. The room was dirty! Used wine glasses and empty cans on the dirty tables. One of the staff was trying to mop the floors while we were trying to set up! When we left we were over charged for the room because again, no one except Ray

Wine was excellent! Grandma W.(1 of 6 I was told) was very nice! Very nice sitting area indoors and outdoors. Outdoors overlooks rolling farmland and is very peaceful. If you end up going on a Wednesday for tastings make sure you are there prior to 4:30 and be prepared to be politely asked to leave at 5:15 when they close at 5:30 because they have to go to church at 6:00 and can't be late.

It was a very relaxed experience. We also got two free samples in addition to the normal quantity of 5, which to my understanding isn't typical, but still very nice for my first time going there. The service was friendly and professional, and the wines tasted pretty good. Definitely got the group tipsy- but that being said most of the people were lightweights. Overall a fun experience.
