The Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu is a community-based organization dedicated to the advancement of individuals through the martial arts. Formally established in 2016, we are connected to a lineage of schools dating back to the earliest known records of martial arts in China. We teach Wu Chi style Kung Fu, which has roots in Goju Karate and Southern Shaolin Kung Fu.
Our style is influenced by Aikido, Ninjitsu, Jeet Kune Do, and Kickboxing. Students of the Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu learn a number of Kung Fu animal styles, including Snake, Crane, Leopard, Tiger, Dragon, and Phoenix variants, as well as practical self-defense techniques. The Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu is a member school of the Wu Chi Kung Fu Association.

Services
Our regular instructors are all fully registered members of the Wu Chi Kung Fu Association's College of Black Belts. Each member of our instruction staff has gone through the rigorous training necessary to be an expert in Wu Chi Chu'an style Kung Fu, and has a particular strength in their teaching different from each of the others.
Students of the Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu can expect to learn theory, mechanics, application, and ethics of fighting. While our focus is on Chinese Kung Fu, we teach a variety of techniques from other styles, including Aikido, Karate, Ninjitsu, Judo/Jujitsu, Tai Chi, Boxing/Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Jeet Kune Do.
The following is a list of rules that everyone is expected to abide by while participating or spectating at the Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu. Generally, these rules are self-explanatory, but in some cases further explanation is given as to the rationale behind the rule. If you have any questions about the rules, or need clarification on one or more of these rules, please contact Lao Shi Scott.
Each student of the Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu holds a rank, denoted by the belt they wear as part of their uniform during class. This rank indicates the level of training they have completed, what they are studying now, and their proficency in the art of Kung Fu. Ranks exist for a number of reasons, not the least of which is tradition in the martial arts.
The Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu charges a monthly membership fee to all students. In addition, all new students are charged a one-time startup fee that covers costs of equipment necessary for the student to begin training at the Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu. You will find that our membership fees and startup costs are very competitive with other martial arts schools in the Twin Cities.

My teenage daughter has been attending classes for a few months and loves it. Owners Scott & Amy are amazing, kind people who have a passion for teaching Kung Fu. Small class size gives extra attention to the students. My daughter had previous Kung Fu experience but in a much larger setting and did not feel she was getting the specialized training as she is now. The fee is monthly and the current times for older kids/adults (13+) are M,W,F 7pm-9pm. Ages 4-12 are M,W 5:45pm-6:45pm. Highly recommend Sinking Moon School of Kung Fu!
