Receiving my cleaned garments back from BRC is like opening a gift! The care they take in returning your clothing is above anything I've ever experienced. A merino wool cardigan was on a padded wire hangar and tissue was placed along the entirety of the sleeves to retain their shape. The item looked BRAND NEW! Today I picked up a sweater and it was neatly draped over a hangar, completely sealed in a plastic bag. I'm grateful they're at the end of my block but I'd travel for them to take care of garments. I don't think they're overpriced...I think you get what you pay

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Brought in a new Restoration Hardware duvet cover as well as a brand new custom dress shirt to be dry cleaned. When we received the dress shirt back it had an orange stain on the shoulder that was not there when my wife dropped it off, and the comforter had a staple in it. When my wife brought in the ruined and soiled items and confronted the manager today about them, he completely denied fault and accused her of stapling the duvet cover herself, and previously soiling the shirt. The manager screamed belligerently at my wife in

Great customer service. Delivers to the loop Fridays. Good cleaning. Only drawback for delivery is that the credit card is charged $200 per delivery, whether you have that much cleaning out not. It adjusts over time..but a drawback.

This is the best in the city. They don't send the job out like all other cleaners, they have a plant there and do it "in house". Impeccable job cleaning my suits and shirts.
Paul has even helped advise me over the phone on what to do so blood doesn't set it and stain one of my suits.
Just had a winter coat altered and it came back perfect. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Barry Regent is The Best Dry Cleaners in Chicago!
My grandfather owned a Quality Dry Cleaning business when I was growing up.. We ALL worked there as kids thru young adults. I know the difference between quality work and $2.25/every piece work.
If I get a stain on something that I think I should just toss.. I take it to BR and they get out the stain.
My clothes are never pressed "hard" like the other cleaners. I live in a high rise which has an on-site cleaners yet I go out of my way to take my clothes to BR.
Barry Regent is a bit more expensive but they do Quality work.
If you care

Horrible service! I brought my down jacket for a delicate clean. Waited one week to get it back and got it in the same exact dirty conditions after paying 15$! After a long arguing with the manager I had to leave the store...there was no point telling them over and over that they didn't do their job. A customer paid to get a service and received back a dirty jacket. As simple as that. By far the worst customer service I've ever had. Stay away from this place! There are much better and cheaper alternatives in Lakeview.

This is a great cleaners. They removed a very scary black ink stain from my bright yellow silk top! I had absolutely no hope. Especially since I made it worse by blotting/rubbing it with water. Never do that. But if you do, Paul will save you. He worked on my stain by hand as promised and restored my garment perfectly! No sign of a struggle. The price was reasonable as well.

I've taken my down coats to this place for over 35 years to be cleaned and stored over the summer months. However, this fall, one of their employees mixed up my long down Eddie Bauer coat with another customer's long down coat, which is absolutely different from mine, e.g., Medium size instead of my petite size so longer than mine, less pockets, among other missing features. Richard, the manager, wouldn't offer any kind of discount on what I paid for cleaning and storage nor reimbursement of any kind to compensate for a coat that originally cost me $300+ and would cost me the same

My clothes were always clean. This is the most expensive dry cleaner I've had of the four I've used in Chicago.

They aren't very friendly. I used this place because it was close to my apartment.

It's fine.

Wowza
I Was very dissatisfied with my service today.
I walked in and was stared at for a while before being helped, then proceeded to give all my information before inquiring about what service I needed. I had a down north face coat. From my understanding it could be laundered not dry cleaned. I knew this prior to coming in because my family has owned a dry cleaners for 60 + years and from working there, I knew the process. I wasn't looking for lecture. I just wanted my coat professionally cleaned because it a) was dirty & b) it smelled like dog from a pup sitting on it over the holiday

This is the best cleaners I've experienced in Chicago. They are not a "discount" business, but rather a fine, established merchant whose work speaks for itself.
Recently I brought a number of shirts needing minor repair: buttons, loose stitching, etc. The business executed the tasks, cleaned the clothing in a timely manner.
Their cleaning and really restoration on an expensive pair of linen slacks was extraordinary. The slacks were badly wine and water stained. I was going to toss them. But Barry-Regent took the time and displayed the craftsmanship of the art of cleaning and reconditioning

Great service and great people. I've been a customer for 35 years, and Barry Regent has taken care of my dry cleaning, laundry, alterations, and special needs, including draperies. During my early years in this neighborhood, I tried other places, but settled on B-R and haven't regretted it.

Nobody is as upfront, and honest as Barry Regent. I recently brought in a white shirt, with black detailing. Upon presenting the shirt, I was informed that the black dye had the potential to transfer on to the white part of the shirt. We talked about my options, and were able to come up with a solution. I then had to sign a paper taking liability for whatever happens. Sounds like a nightmare, until you realize other cleaners would not care enough to even mention it. This place goes above, and beyond in the way of customer service. If you need something special done, or just need a regularly dry

I took my mid thigh leather Jacket there to be dry cleaned. When I went to pick it up, the leather felt unlikely harsher, even though it was soft(cowhide) before I dropped it off, and they ruined all the pockets of the jacket, I mean they were all torn. Little I knew about dropping off leather jacket for dry cleaning, I found out from a friend that I should've requested a written insurance from their part in case if they did any harm to the leather, so they can be liable, which they did. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE HECK THEY ARE DOING. NEVER AGAIN THERE

I liked the attention they gave me whenever I dropped off my clothes. I used to live in this part of the neighborhood, and I would go to them every once in a while. I usually would drop off several shift dresses, a wool coat, and a fake leather jacket and skirt for dry-cleaning, usually anytime I want special attention paid to my garments. This is especially important because every time, the people there would take notes on the cleaning instructions on my garments. I've never seen that done at any other dry-cleaners before. The attention they gave to the instructions definitely reeled me in

I thought I'd try Barry Regent to get a shirt's sleeves altered. I knew they'd be pricey but was willing to try them again.

$25 to get cuffs moved an inch up on a shirt? Grossly overpriced. I went to several drycleaners to price match their charges for altering sleeve lengths, and Barry Regent was the second highest of them all.

For a neighborhood cleaners, they charge an arm and a leg for everything, whether it's simple laundry services or alterations. The folks who helped me behind the counter were pleasant, but there are ample drycleaners around the area that I won

There are a few things I refuse to have more than one of in this life. My hair stylist, my eyebrow lady, my barista, and my trusty cleaners. I am hardly ever in need of going to the cleaners but when I do, I make sure that I take all of my things to Barry Regent. I have gone through it all at one time or another. I had a last minute pressing situation where I needed my very delicate gown pressed ASAP and it was ready to go in less than 5 minutes! I had two pairs of jeans that I wanted more of a skinny leg on and the seamstress had both pairs ready in less than 2 weeks. I managed to get foundation

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I have never left a review about any business before, but this was so appalling I felt I had to warn others. I called in advance asking how much it would cost to get a long formal dress hemmed. A female worker told me $12. I told her it was actually 2 layers, so they told me two layer dress hem costs $18. I chose Berry Regents over other tailors for this price reason alone. I went in, had the dress pinned to my liking, etc. and I gave them two weeks to complete it. I go in the day my dress is supposed to be finished (2 days before the wedding

One of the last of the real "old school" dry cleaners out there. If you have an article of value that you want cleaned, altered, pressed, or preserved and want it done right take it here. You might pay a few more dollars but the service is A+ and they do the job right.
