A graduate of California State University Sacramento, where Tessa repeatedly appeared on the Dean's honor roll, she went on to earn her law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law where she was awarded Top Honors in Trial Advocacy. She has practiced in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Shasta, and Tehama Counties.
Tessa's practice is focused on all aspects of family law, from divorce and custody cases to division of property, domestic violence restraining orders, civil harassment restraining orders, and guardianships. STEER CLEAR and beware of other reviews she will solicit positive reviews from her clients and friends to pad her image..... If you want your case to end up at the back of her case load and not get the attention it deserves then stay away from this one. Tessa is a bare minimum lawyer. Always shows up late or even cuts your time short. She will constantly interrupt you because she doesn't care what you have to say she just wants your money and to waste your time so she can charge you more. She makes her self sound like a great lawyer with tons of experience and will go to bat for you aggressively

I hired Mayer Family Law to respond to a bogus DVTRO I was served; and to file for a subsequent divorce. I talked to other law offices, but this group is a No-BS, highly professional group, and I'm anticipating my divorce to be finalized this April. I know a lot of friends who had bad experience with lawyers, but this group is outstanding. Went to Tessa for a custody case after my fiancé took my kids. Since it was in another county she couldn't help me but she did her best to guide me in what to do and expect she was very informative and professional. She was honest with me and said it would cost me to much in travel time to take my case but she would. I did not go with Tessa but because of her knowledge I was able to get my kids back. Since then I have sent other people I know who have been going thru almost the same case as myself. She was able to get custody of my friends son and has continued to work hard for her. Tessa
