Services
John serves as our surveying coordinator and he is a qualified civil engineering technician. John's experience includes the design and preparation of commercial and residential grading plans, improvement plans for public and private roads, utility plans and the calculation and drafting of subdivision maps, parcel maps, record of surveys and exhibit maps.
After his long career in private sector engineering in Hawaii, we're thrilled to have Steve on our staff. He works in combination with staff here to prepare all types of engineered plans, survey maps and planning maps. The engineering plans provide direction on the construction requirements of street, drainage, retaining walls and utilities.
The 1998 Grass Valley Main Street Project included replacement of the paving and sidewalks and the addition of planters and inlay cross-walks. This investment by Grass Valley complimented the private investments of downtown merchants to make the heart of town more vibrant than ever before. Our services included the design survey, design, construction staking, and involvement throughout construction.
The term parcel map refers to the process of dividing property into four or fewer parcels (with some exceptions) for purposes of "sale, lease, or finance." The most common application is that an individual wishes to divide their property for sale. The parcel map process has become complex over the years.
The lot line adjustment process allows land to be taken away from one parcel and added on to an adjoining parcel. No new legal parcels are created. The law does allow for parcels to be eliminated. For example, 3 parcels could be combined into two parcels by a lot line adjustment process. County or City approval is required.

Nevada City Engineering is a legendary gold country firm. We've had an excellent experience with them as a client. They could not be better. Additionally, everyone we talk to from government officials, to real estate agents, to architects, to attorneys know who NCE is and also love collaborating on projects.
