Traditional Chinese Medicine is very different from the western scientific approach we are accustomed to. Chinese medical experts promote the healthful balance of yin and yang - two forces present in all of nature. When yin or yang forces are off-balance in the body or spirit, health problems arise; Chinese herbs and herbal remedies are used to help realign an individual's yin or yang balance in order to improve overall well-being and health.

The other day I stopped into Pacific Herbs to find a detox tea. My husband and I spoke at length with one of the women there about our symptoms and came away with herbal remedies that we're excited to try. I was super sad to learn that the Chinatown/I.D. location closed due to the pandemic. They now have only two stores--this one on highway 99 next door to 99 Ranch Market and the other in Kent.
If you need to see the herbal doctor, he (or she?) is now in Kent. But I have to say that the woman who helped us was so incredibly knowledgeable that she was more than qualified to answer any of

I went here to see the Chinese Dr. A female dr (I believe named Dr. Li) saw me. I was able to communicate to her in Cantonese. I have been dealing with too much hotness in my body and have been to a lot of American drs and haven't found much help.
She took my blood pressure, looked at my tongue and palpated my wrist. Then she told me it is a slow process to get me healing so she would start me off on a two week supply of herbal medication. All together - seeing her and two week supply of medication cost $130. She said usually most herbal meds cost around ($120-$130)

Went here with a friend today to see the Chinese doctor. Her friend had gone here previously and was like, whoa, how did the doctor know that I had my gall bladder removed?! Today, he treated my friend with herbs and seemed to do all the standard stuff like take pulse and look at tongue. He was very polite and took many notes. After 15 minutes we came back and picked up the herbs to brew for 7 days.
The doctor spoke a bit of English, but we communicated mostly in Mandarin.

If you have an ailment that can not be cured by what western doctor and medicine, this is the place to go! So every time I have any problems the doctor here has recommended that helped me heal quite quickly, the prices are pretty decent and there's a very wide selection including ginseng, goji berry, dates, healthy Teas, even beauty products. I've always had good results coming here and have been satisfied every time I definitely recommend this place if you are just curious or have an element element, is definitely worth your time

The older woman who works here is incredibly curt and rude, even by Chinese standards. I absolutely avoid coming here unless absolutely necessary -- I'll take a detour to the ID if possible just to avoid this place and avoid getting barked at by the woman in question. If you speak Cantonese, I'd highly suggest doing so here, as you'll get treated better than if you speak English or Mandarin. Mandarin speakers who've been to Hong Kong know what type of treatment I'm talking about.

Unhygienic!!! Somebody call the health department.
While doling out my herbs, the doctor waited on another customer and handled money. I asked him to change his gloves before handling my herbs again. He just laughed and continued doling out my herbs. I think he didn't understand English.
His assistant came to help him and she had on the same gloves she used while talking on her cell phone.
As with the diagnosis, he was about 2/3 correct about my ailments.

Came here looking for stuff for the Mr's cold. I bought my favorite menthol oil. (think a stronger, but better smelling Vicks). It was way cheaper than what Ranch 99 was selling it for. I was really looking for something for coining, but they do not carry it here. I'll try the ID next time. The people here are very nice, and friendly. They do speak English, just be patient with them. They carry teas, nice quality herbs, preserved fruit. Something ailing you? Go see the herb doctor and he will come hook you up.

This is where I go when I get sick. The Chinese Medicine doctor there is top notch.
The herbs there are also quality.
Aside from that, they also carry some very good loose teas -- such as green tea, pu erh, jasmine, and such and such. They have some pretty fancy ones too.
Lets not forget the old school snacks by the window: preserved ginger, lemon peel, etc. I haven't had any from there, but I've been tempted.
The store is located right next to 99 Ranch Market
