Hi! I'm Renae Heineck, the owner of Custom Cakes NW in Newberg, Oregon, thanks for checking out my website. I'm often asked, "How long have you been decorating cakes?".and the answer is, "since I was 7 with my Easy Bake Oven". My brother and I had a sweet tooth and our Mom fostered the love of baking.
Custom made cakes are not cheap. Nothing that is custom made is. You cannot expect to enjoy a cake that takes hours and sometimes days to make and pay grocery store prices. I have spent many years practicing, gaining experience, taking classes and purchasing expensive equipment to provide high end cakes to clients who are interested in purchasing quality edible sugar art to make their occasions special.
Unless you are immersed in the growing world of sugar arts and cake decorating, you may not know much about cakes, how to order, transport, preserve, or what flavors to choose. The "Tips" below are here to help you make an educated decision regarding your cake/cupcakes/desserts and that all goes well with your order.
Your cake will be made from scratch using only the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients available, rich pure extracts & liquors, butter from a local creamery, fresh eggs and cream. Sugar-free, gluten-free, and eggless cakes are available in limited flavors. Together, we will collaborate in creating a wedding or event cake that is specifically tailored to your personal tastes.
Allergy Information: Cakes are baked in a state licensed domestic kitchen that uses nuts, eggs, wheat, and dairy products. These are the best in layered cakes! Four layers of moist cake and three yummy fillings then iced in Italian buttercream. Each cake is decorated on trend and perfect front and center at your table.

Renae was amazing and made a beautiful cake for our wedding. The flavors were exactly what we wanted, not just a list we were forced to choose from, she was patient with us even with postponing for covid, and the pricing was amazing especially considering she stayed and served it at our wedding. She went above and beyond any expectations to make the cake and delivery excellent.

I love Renae she saved my daughters 1st birthday the bakery I've been working with for 2 months canceled 2 days before my daughter birthday do I was referred to Renae and god bless her she agreed to do it and I'm very happy with her work it was beautiful all my family and friends loved it! Wow, wow, wow! Renee with Custom Cakes is amazing. She offers a variety of different flavors and can do gluten free too. She provided us with a beautiful and delicious three tier cake for our wedding that was delivered and set up in one piece. Additionally, we hired Renee to make a croquembouche to go along with the cake. And seriously guys, those things are not easy to make, but yet Renee made it happen. Both the cake and croquembouche turned out amazing. We love her cakes so much, that we have made Custom Cakes our designated cake place for birthdays and special events. You guys can't go wrong

My new husband and I loved the carrot cake she made with cream cheese frosting for our wedding. So did our guests. My only regret is that we didn't order more of it. It ended up being even more popular than the chocolate cake. (Also personally, I preferred the cream cheese frosting over the butter cream)

Renee delivered beyond expectations on my request for a birthday cake to celebrate my Mom's 90th. I had cakes delivered to siblings around the country and Renee's was the most beautiful... and it was delicious. I ordered a cake from Custom Cakes for my graduation party, and Renee was absolutely lovely. She was great at communicating and working with me on the vision of the cake that I wanted. I ordered a two-tiered chocolate cake, with the second tier a graduation cap.
However, I was very disappointed soon after picking it up. After driving very, very carefully, after literally two minutes, the top tier of the cake began to slide around, and then it toppled over when the car made a slight (and very careful) left turn. Renae at Custom Cakes is always prompt and professional. With so many decadent and delicious cake flavors, filling, and frosting choices - it can be hard to choose just 1! Our all time favorite is the vanilla cheesecake. It's a perfect balance of decadent creaminess and slightly sweet. With high quality ingredients, the flavor is one of a kind. We were disappointed in the quality of the cake. Many people, including myself, found it to be quite dry. The icing pattern was suppose to appear like lace--to mimic the dress-- and ended up looking terribly ameteur. I was also disappointed with our bakers harsh reaction to our desire to only purchase a cake for the cake cutting ceremony.
