Gartner Refrigeration is a family business founded in 1945 by Herb Gartner. Herb came from an immigrant German family with seven brothers, all of whom worked in the refrigeration industry. The Company started as a service, air conditioning and refrigeration company, gradually moving into promoting Industrial Refrigeration.
In 1949, Gartner teamed up with Frick Company, and with that partnership our Industrial Business has expanded over the years. Gartner Refrigeration is now moving through its Second Generation that started in 1976 when John Hendrickson assumed control of the Company. During the years from 1945 to date, the firm has strived to maintain reliable service, innovation, and the motto that "Failure is NOT an option".

Since 1945 we have developed expertise in a variety of refrigerants and refrigeration systems. Your refrigeration system runs 24 hours a day. Service for it should be just as available. Problems happen any time of the day, any day of the week, and when that happens, Gartner will be there for you. It is getting harder and harder to find skilled, seasoned people who can diagnose and address a problem quickly.
Gartner Refrigeration offers complete Design-Build system services, including load analysis, refrigeration equipment selection, energy efficiency calculations, relief valve calculations and charge calculations. Our refrigeration engineering staff can develop estimated cost and payback scenarios to quickly determine the most cost effective solution.
You may think of Gartner Refrigeration as only a Design-Build Contractor, but we are also a Plan and Spec Contractor. Throughout our company's history we have established strong relationships across the country with Architect and Engineering firms and General Contractors. Gartner's ability to work with multiple firms professionally, courteously and on schedule have proven that Gartner is a vital part of any Plan and Specification Project Team.

We have invested in a half million dollar parts inventory, and can deliver virtually any part you need overnight.
There's no more need to ship compressors to the east and west coasts - which takes time and adds to the cost - now you have a source for rebuilding screw or reciprocating compressor right here in the Midwest. Gartner Refrigeration offers the total rebuild package: factory-trained personnel, fast service, local start-up, oil and vibration analysis and a one year full parts and labor warranty after our on-site compressor start-up.
