Services
Our treatment philosophy involves operating from a biopsychosocial framework to implement the most comprehensive treatment plan for each patient. We believe psychopharmacological interventions are an important part of a treatment plan, but are most efficacious in conjunction with other non-pharmacological interventions such as psychodynamic or cognitive behavioral psychotherapy as well as integrative medicine.
I believe in an integrative approach to every patient. The fields of medicine and psychiatry are rapidly changing, as more physicians are acknowledging the accumulating research looking at nutritional interventions for psychiatric illness. The understanding of genetics, metabolism, and nutrition is now incorporated into mainstream medicine.

I have been Dr. Frenkel's patient since 2011. She has been a lifesaver for me. I also previously saw a therapist of the practice who had been nothing but tremendous support in my life. I read some of the reviews and it’s clear to me that some people have issues, I mean - serious issues. I feel that some one-sided reviews are not a fair reflection of her efforts and for people who need her undivided attention. I know Dr. Frenkel to be the most helpful, compassionate, honest 100%, good hearted and easy going person. Trust me, she would be the last person to suggest medical marihuana or to push

Was seeking a new psychiatrist and saw the great reviews for Dr. Frenkel. Her website stated that she handled everything I suffered with and I was able to get an appointment with her pretty quickly, which I did appreciate. However, I was told by her receptionist, not even HER, that their office was not “equipped” to see me after reviewing my history. Maybe you should go back to medical school and become equipped to handle what you’re supposed to be practicing, psychiatry????

Poor customer care, they used their front staff worker to assess me as if she was qualified and made a judgement call without hearing my full story. I only said two sentences. Than they made up a fake policy saying I need two years of sobriety, yet i worked hard to get 9 months clean. Their website says they treat substance abuse and give out suboxone. Who gonna start suboxone after being clean for 2 years? Don't go here, I'm sure they were good in the beginning but now I don't see that.

- Long term patient of 9 years plus several months when I started as her patient when she started out, working at Genpsych for my previous psychiatrist a decade ago.
What I have been through and witnessed- and have in documentation -well , I will be taking my complaints to report this practice for thorough investigation. I see I’m not alone on some areas of concern in others reviews but as a long time patient - there’s even more in addition that is unsettling.
I recommend GenPsych instead.

Initially Dr. Frenkel successfully treated my symptoms with medication and I will always be grateful for that. Our appointments lasted an average of 10 minutes so she is not someone to seek if you’re looking for therapy. She will refer you to Elana or Lenny for that. She will respond to emails if you need something but I would also receive upsetting phone calls from her office while I was working. I decided to seek treatment elsewhere due to differences of opinion regarding my ongoing treatment and so I could incorporate therapy into my sessions without having multiple providers since I didn’t

Dr. Frenkel is without question, the most thorough, compassionate and professional psychiatrist I have ever encountered. She has changed my life though medicine and therapy. Her entire staff is a pleasure to deal with, and always super accommodating. The office is lovely, and the option of tele psychiatry is nothing short of a miracle.
Dr. Lenny, who works with Dr. Frenkel is an incredible therapist, I cannot recommend this practice enough.
