NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers (National Fire Protection Association code), and California Health and Safety Code Title 19 both mandate that portable fire extinguishers be properly installed in buildings and serviced annually by a licensed fire extinguisher company.

Due to the salty, foggy San Francisco Bay air, drop ladder type fire escapes should be serviced on a yearly basis. Without annual servicing, which includes thorough inspections of cables and all moving parts, lubrication with silicone spray, and mechanical adjustments, the metal fire escape ladders rust and become unusable.
NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, and California Health and Safety Code Title 19 specify requirements for fire sprinkler and standpipe installation, inspection, testing and maintenance.

I saw a Mazzy's truck in front of my business and had a few question about fire extinguisher placement so I went out and talk to the two gentlemen in the truck. They not only answered all my questions but came in and looked in my building and explained to my why certain places would be best to mount the fire extinguishers. I know who I will be going through when my extinguishers need to be services! Thanks guys for all your help!!!
