This place is stuck in the Stone Age. Can't even set up automatic payment online. You have to go into the branch and sign a form. Not a big deal but when you compare that with every other bank out there it seems like they need to update their systems.

I get mail and calls from dozens of insurance companies etc. I had to call them to tell them to STOP IT.

In November of 2020, my mortgage refinance closed with Mission Federal Credit Union. As part of the settlement, the CU required me to pay my property taxes for December 2020 through them. I already has an escrow account ready to pay these taxes with my previous lender, California Coast Credit Union. I called my lender, CalCoast, at the time and asked not to pay my taxes for December 2020 since my new lender would pay them. Everything closed and I relied on the escrow company, Smart Live Escrow, to pay me taxes since they collected the funds from my total settlement. Again these property taxes were

I was just denied a refinance on my Mission Federal Auto Loan that I opened in September of 2017.

Let me preface this by saying that I wanted to shorten my term even if it meant raising my monthly payment. My point of trying to refinance my loan was to pay off my car faster.

I asked what the reason for my denial was considering I have an 800+ FICO. Due to being a co-signer on my family's mortgage, my debt to income ratio is off balance.

I explained that my debt to income ratio on paper is not what is true and factual.

In 2013, I co-signed on my family's home loan with my father

Nathan from Mission Fed needed an additional document to process my auto loan. I tried calling Nathan back multiple times. Call 1: line busy. Call 2: no answer. Call 3: to VM again. Tried my luck and pressed 0. It worked, ended up talking to someone else who told me he's gone for the day. Call 4: left a voicemail with not only my personal cell but that of my wife as well, you know just in case. Nathan never called back. Not once. A couple days later the dealer informs me that Mission Fed just sent the loan back because they didn't get whatever document. They were just as surprised as

Honestly, find another bank. They rejected my husband and I tax return because it was deposited into my account and not a joint account. Then had the audacity to tell me it was an IRS/FTB rule which is blatantly says on their website that it is not. Shame on you mission fed. You say that you are a small bank with great customer service but you are not. Nobody wanted to help. Nobody had a good explanation. Violating people's privacy by removing money from their bank account, you should be embarrassed.

Seriously these people should be out of the business.
Their methods are weird and impossible to understand. Their customer service is poorly trained and dont know what they are doing. There is constant turn over in the branch so you are always dealing with someone new.
As soon as possible I'm getting all my banking away from them!!

Linda from eDesk was so helpful! I'm new to MissionFed and even though she helped me from the online chat, she sure did leave an impression and helped me as much as should possibly could and was able to have me all set for online banking! After shopping around looking for credit unions and jumping from bank to bank.... Through this experience I had with Linda, I think it's safe to say MissionFed is now my new financial institution home. I highly recommend MissionFed to those who don't have a Credit Union yet! I hope miss Linda always either gets promoted or given a raise! She was

My wife and I bought a car, MFCU had the best rates in town, none of the major commercial banks were even close. We are happy with MFCU and their branches are always conveniently near and look clean and inviting with short lines in my experience and good service, nice to see security present also.

NEVER refi your home with Mission Fed... UGH

Did a refi thinking it would be more convenient to have my mortgage at my credit union. Boy was I wrong. They've been sending me threatening letters every couple months FOR YEARS insisting that I update my homeowner's insurance information with them -- or else they're going to buy (more expensive) insurance for me. My insurance has been current and unchanged since day one.

My place is a condo with an HOA master policy that I don't have ready access to, but that didn't stop them from repeatedly demanding it. I've spoken

I've been using Mission Federal for approximately 10 years. It has become the worse financial institution I have ever had to deal with. I have had car loans etc. through this bank but will not continue to use them. Once I get my direct deposit switched to a different bank I will be closing all of my Mission Federal accounts. The fees are terrible, customer service has become non existent and the representatives are down right rude to deal with. Bye Felicia

Applied for an auto loan.
got a call back.
I made mistakes during the call about some of my information due to misunderstandings I have had with other CU calls.
She seemed annoyed. She explained what the CU likes to see for an auto loan, and the requirements didn't really match up for the car I had in mind. It is pretty hard to find a 2003-2004 year car that is under 75k miles. Prices will soar up at that kind of low mileage. Thanks but no thanks, I have had better experiences with other CU calls recently.

I have a mortgage loan with this credit union. It has been nothing but a pain since I got it. The employees are not trained properly and it's mistake after mistake. They ended up reporting something to my credit when it was MFCU's error. I was told it would be corrected and again I got a letter in the mail claiming a mistake I made...huh...it's one thing after the other with this credit union and everyday I keep hoping this mortgage loan would get transferred to another institution. My advice to others reading this don't join this credit union and look elsewhere. You need a

Maybe I'm biased, but I think Mission Fed is the BEST credit union in San Diego. I have my car loan through Mission Fed, we got a killer rate (2.25% for 6 years) and I took advantage of their Autoland car-buying service where I got exactly what I wanted, with the tow package and upgrades, delivered to my local branch in 2 days. No haggling with car dealership people, no internet searching, just "Here is my budget, here is what I want, please deliver it ASAP" and POW! They do. Great customer service, great product lines, no hidden fees, no scary big-bank tactics. Mission Fed is only

Bought a home in Sept 2007 and got a loan through MFCU. I thought it would be a great relationship since I have been banking with them for close to 20 years and I have been happy with my checking and savings.

I'm not convinced that the focus here is customer service. Payments are cumbersome and inconvenient for no apparent reason...e.g. if you don't use the special envelope they provide in the monthly invoice sent to you, then the payment gets misrouted even though the correct address and department information are on the envelope (right address, wrong envelope). I pay my bills on
