Services
Brightstar Solar was founded by husband and wife Jon and Mona Reese in 2009. The company is an extension of their personal beliefs in sustainability, conservation, and environmental stewardship. Today the Reeses are still Brightstar's sole owners and continue to be heavily involved in the company's day-to-day operations, particularly customer relationships, design and engineering, and construction supervision.
When the sun's rays shine on a PV array, DC current flows to the system's inverter(s), which convert(s) that current into AC. Whatever loads (lights, television, HVAC, refrigerator, etc.) are being used in the home or business use some of that power to perform their jobs.
If there is more power being produced by the PV system than what is demanded at a particular time, the excess flows through the meter (spinning it backward) and back to the utility.An example might be in the afternoon, when the sun is shining at its strongest onto the array but no one is home to demand much power.

Jon and Mona were great to work with. They were clear, professional and on top of the details. They were able to shuffle us in before winter hit and the project went smoothly from start to finish. Out of every installer I talked to, Brightstar offered the best cost per kW, per kWH, and per panel.
I shopped around at 7 installers. Brightstar was the only one without high pressure sales tactics. They didn't call me on the phone constantly or try to bully me into installing their preferred products. Jon gave me recommendations, but ultimately let me choose what kinds of panels and inverters I wanted. The other companies have a lot of gimmicks and flashy guarantees to distract you and take advantage of what little you might know

Truly a very satisfying experience; from the initial survey, system design and installation and performance verification. With Brightstar Solar you deal directly with the owners of the company, Jon and Mona, who always responded to any questions or concerns I had in a timely manner, usually within 24hrs! Try to get that from one of the Mega solar companies. They explained every detail about hardware selection, cable routing, meter operation, solar production and monitoring, billing and solar crediting in a

Brightstar Solar is one of the best companies we have worked with... it came highly recommended from two of our co-workers, and after they installed our solar panels, I am blown away by their professionalism as well as how understanding and caring they were throughout the process! We had solar panels installed in June, 2020. We were researching solar companies for 6 months or more. Working with Jon, Mona and their team was a great experience. Jon was able to answer all our questions. He was knowledgeable, reliable and helpful. The installation was quick and clean. Mona helped us with the paperwork, answered all our questions and processed all the paperwork with ease. Brightstar Solar went above and beyond from the first day we met Jon. Consummate professionals Jon and Mona made for a wonderful experience from start to finish and beyond. They handled all the paperwork navigating the regulations, rebates and permits with ease. Panels installed and operational for over a year now, online monitoring is fantastic and the SRECs are reported fully automatically. Follow up service has been brilliant; we needed some chimney work done, Jon and his crew came back removed a section of panels, allowed our contractor to complete the re-pointing then refitted them with no hassle.
