Called to repair washing machine. Price to repair was more than half the cost of a new one. Sometimes you get bad news. Paid my service call fee. Everyone deserves pay for their time. Curtis recommended buying a commercial washed. Got removal of old one, hoses and delivery free for mentioning his name. Very happy with new washer. When the dryer goes I will go to a commercial one also. Over 20 years with Shaw's and still happy.

We have a fridge over 30 years old and was very happy with it till the icemaker went out. We called are regular repairmen and he does not do Hollister. We had seen the Shaw's Appliance repair truck and knew they had been in business in Hollister foever. We gave them a call and came right out and he confirmed it was the icemaker. Shaws appliance is very professional and courteous. Unfortunately, we paid $129 just for professionalism but no service. Curtis came to our home to check our stove and looked at the stove for 10 minutes. Granted he did check if he could find the parts, but claimed he could not as we have a very old stove. This was understandable. The frustrating part was being charged $129 for no real service and being told our stove doesn't work when the reason we were calling is because it doesn't work. Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness
The original owner was great. The new owner does not back up his work. We had dishwasher repair and there was a problem. When I called he did not return my call. I finally reached him and explained my problem and he said he was going out of business and would not be able to help me. However they are still opened??????

Kitchen Aid booked them for a warranty and repair. Guy shows up opend the mircowave door and closes it and says its the main board. Charges my wife $100 for coming out even tho kitchen aid already sent them a blank invoice for them to fill out and send back to them.
Wife was home alone at the time and wasent looking for trouble so she paid him and asked him to leave.
I contacted Kitchen Aid and they said we are not supposed to be billed for any services as they have sent over 3 blank invoices for them to fill out and send back.
I called shaw and they refused to issue a refund and said the check

Within in the last several years Curtis has helped me out of some real jams. He is GREAT technical, very professional and friendly. Just last month he fixed my gas burner, recalibrated my ovens and resolved a microwave issue. He is the best. His rates are also spot on. TRUST WORTHY, RELIABLE & REASONABLE

My good old whirlpool dryer stopped drying and I panicked. I called Shaw's Appliance Repairs scheduled a repair. Spoke to Curtis was given an appointment for the following week. My technician Ethan was on time was able to repair my dryer within a short period of time. Great customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone needing dryer repair. The total with service call fee was very reasonable. Sure beats the headache of replacing with new one. Thank you Shaw's Appliance Repair. No more laundromats for me.

Shaw’s Appliance AGAIN did an awesome job. My cooktop is ready for the holidays now. They answer the phone when you call and get to the house on time! That is HUGE in my opinion! In the Hollister area Shaw’s is the place for appliance repair. They are reasonable in prices and reliable.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOKER. I wish I would have read some of the reviews before I called Shaw's. I was having a problem with the automatic soap dispenser to my GE washing machine. Ethan one of there service tech's came out and told my wife that it would be very expensive to repair and suggested that we just fill manually but they still charged us $89 for the call out which we were both OK with. When we went to try to use the washer, for some reason it would no longer drain any water. I called Shaw's to report it they send Ethan back out who now claims that the drain pump was

So I requested a quote from another appliance repair company and Yelp did what Yelp does and I'm getting calls from other company's than who I actually requested. Funny thing is that Curtis (owner) is the first who responded!!! Not only that, but he offered solutions to help my problem. Testament to his knowledge; he inquired about my garbage disposal (which was leaking under my sink) and I hadn't mentioned there was a problem. So now I have a great start to possible fixing myself!

Got new kitchen appliances and installed them. One did not work when I got it. Called manufacturer who had Shaw's call me. I was concerned (looked at Yelp after phone call)... the day of service arrived and who appears? The nicest most competent repair person I've met in a long time! Ethan! Great job! He was professional, was efficient, worked the problem and determined the fix. Ordered the part, returned a couple of days later, fixed the dishwasher and we are now set! They are totally rude! I called to see if they would work on my Thermador freezer and he said "no one works on those anymore, I can't help you" and just hung up on me? He is super unhelpful. Sorry for those of you who live in Hollister and are stuck with this guy!

We hired Curtis Postle, owner of Shaw's Appliance Repair, to check out our refrigerator because I thought it was broken. He came on time and determined the refrigerator was fine. I was happy to pay the $65.00 fee and appreciated his honesty and professionalism. He said he bought the business from Mr. Shaw and inherited some irate customer reviews which predated his ownership. I highly recommend this business. I like to call a business and have the owner show up rather than an employee because an owner is more apt to really care about his or her reputation and workmanship.
