I'm Brooke - a dog obsessed Newburyporter specializing in lifestyle family portraits since 2010. Everyone always asks- did you study photography in college? Nope, not until after, but I did focus on storymaking of sorts. My major was print communications and media studies (minor in psychology). I thought Id end up more in the reporter/writer field, but my heart fell hard & fast for the visual art of photography.
Either way, I'm telling a story- YOUR story. My clients choose me not just for my photography, but also because I'm fun and organized (I'm a Senior project manager in the corporate world as well). My years of experience will help us to pick the perfect location at the ideal time of day with all expectations set ahead of time (from where to park, what to wear, etc.).

Services
These sessions can run up to 2 hours in order to give ample time for in-between feeding, breaks, outfit changes etc. Sessions can take place at my home studio or your home-- but you and baby may be most comfy at your own home. I suggest a shoot 1-10 days after the baby is born so he/she will sleep for a good amount of time without us disturbing him/her.
This fee includes travel to your location (within 15 miles), 1 hour of shooting time, travel home and editing of all of the best photos (about 3 hours time per coverage hour). Permit and/or parking fees will be added to your invoice total. In some cases, the location requires that I provide proof of liability insurance which is totally normal if asked.
I love love and especially getting the chance to photograph the first moments that begin your love story. When the proposer contacts me to photograph this special occasion, I always feel so very special to be asked! I will help you with the logistics and planning a bit if needed and answer any questions that you may have- we will work on the entire plan for the big day (or night).
Brooke was great to work with! SUPER responsive (I love seeing pics on Facebook right away!)--we got out wedding pics within a week of our wedding. She is very laid back and easy to work with. Everyone thought that the photos really captured the spirit of our wedding, which is exactly what we wanted!

Like many brides in 2020/2021, our wedding celebration was changed and rescheduled 3 times before we were finally able to celebrate with our family in a casual back yard event. The location changed 3 times but Brooke was always a constant! Brooke was extremely flexible and helpful throughout the whole process. Not only was her photography beautiful but she was really helped walk me through many suggestions about how to make the DIY event work and flow. I appreciated all the expertise she gave me! I cannot say enough great things about our experience working with Brooke as our wedding photographer. One of my co-workers had Brooke shoot her son’s bar mitzvah and suggested I consider her, and I am so glad I did. First of all, Brooke is such a professional. She comes to each meeting organized and ready to collaborate on ideas. I had the pleasure of working with Brooke Whicher on her holiday mini-sessions. Brooke was wonderful to work with – she was clear on her vision, yet open to my ideas. Together we brainstormed on locations and how the set for her mini-sessions would look. As a result I was able to find the perfect location and create an indoor holiday themed setting for her photos - including a live tree covered in lights and surrounded by wrapped presents, and fireplace complete with twinkling candles, garland, and birch logs.

What can I say about Brooke without sounding like an obsessed fan girl. Our first phone call made me feel so confident that we were making the right choice. When we met for the first time Jason and I left knowing that we had a life long friend who was going to capture our wedding day perfectly. She was genuinely interesting in our story! She's smart, she is efficient, and she has an eye for what is beautiful and natural. She made sure our timeline was adhered to (including wrangling all of those family members for formals). Brooke was amazing - during every bit of the wedding planning! She was so great for our engagement photos and made us feel super comfortable and took amazing shots! She met with me several times to help create the timeline - which is the timeline i used for all of my vendors! Brooke was extremely responsive - and I send A LOT of emails - she always got back to me right away! She is more than just your wedding photographer! She really helped coordinate my day to be as smooth as possible and kept everyone on track! The perfect amount of candids and posed photos. I am so happy with my photos! She
