Having a blueprint will save you time and money by giving you an accurate parts list, including the placement of the various spray and rotor heads for proper coverage.
Backflow preventers must be tested yearly when your sprinkler is turned on. This is to protect our drinking water from getting pesticides and other contaminates in it. The city of Wichita and all the surrounding areas all require this be tested and then files with the city. Those on wells do not need this done.
The weather in Kansas can change quickly. This makes it important to schedule your sprinkler winterization appointment when you receive your winterization reminder postcard from Apex. The temperature and the wind chill can cause damage to your backflow preventer. Any resident on city water has a backflow preventer.
All sprinkler systems that are hooked to city water require a backflow preventer. This device prevents harmful things such as fertilizers to get into our drinking water. The City of Wichita requires all backflow preventers to be tested yearly when we turn on your sprinkler system to be sure they are working correctly.

Apex's people are great. Those that came to do the initial installation were friendly and responsive. Specifically, I had been gone for the part of the time and the control box wasn't installed in a good place for me. They moved it without issue. Further, my lawn was installed in mid-November, and they moved my job up on their project list because it had rained, and they were not able to work the new build properties. My ground was a bit soft, so the trencher left some bigger than usual marks, and they came out and took care of it. That guy was also great and very friendly. Finally, since they

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I purchased a home, the previous owner used Apex for their irrigation system maintenance. I decided to keep the same company. BIG MISTAKE!! I had some work done in May, and was billed. I was laid off from work, so I was unable to pay it. Today, the previous owner of the home reached out to me as he received a credit letter, and phone calls from a creditor, as this has been reported to his perfect credit report. Our sprinkler system had been installed very poorly by the original company. After trying to reach him and getting nowhere, we were able to get in touch Apex at the recommendation of our builder. They were very easy to work with, fixed all of the issues we had been having with our sprinklers (heads not straight, heads not buried properly, heads spraying directly into the fence, not being registered with the City etc.), and were very easy to work with for scheduling. We will be continuing to use them instead.
