Services
Their son Roy E. Corbitt joined them shortly thereafter in the business and has worked here ever since as a funeral director and embalmer. His wife Effie Jean Corbitt later joined him in the business as a licensed funeral director, and their son R.E. The Corbitts have been serving Tuskegee and other surrounding communities for 69 years thanks to many families placing their trust in us to take care of their funeral needs.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
Corbitt's Funeral Home has been involved in monument sales, design and installation since 1967. We custom design every monument and provide families with a computer generated sketch showing you exactly how your monument will look to ensure everything is the way you choose. We can also handle most work you would like to have done to your cemetery lot.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
