Services
Physicians for Reproductive Health unites the medical community and concerned supporters. Together, we work to improve access to comprehensive reproductive health care, including contraception and abortion, especially to meet the health care needs of economically disadvantaged patients. We use scientific expertise and our patients' real-life experiences to influence legislation, medical practice, and public opinion.
Since our beginnings in 1992, we've made major strides in the fight for reproductive health and rights. From the patient rooms to the courts, our partners and supporters work to ensure no one is denied the care they need, when they need it. Our trained physician advocates live and practice in 45 states.
62% of our operating budget comes from grants made by institutional funders. 23% of our budget is generously donated by individuals, 2/3 of whom are non-physicians and 1/3 of whom are doctors and other medical professionals. Please note that Physicians for Reproductive Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Our Leadership Training Academy has trained physicians in 47 states to be the evidence-based voice in the news. Click through to meet a few. No other organization has had as much impact on my personal and professional life as Physicians for Reproductive Health.

Starting in medical school as a board member, I met staff and physicians who empowered me to speak out publicly to advocate for abortion care and comprehensive reproductive health care for all.During my residency and fellowships, I was able to further hone my public speaking skills through the Leadership Training Academy while also building upon professional relationships with inspiring leaders in the field.
Abortion care is the only area of medicine where the federal government puts politics and ideology before the patient-provider relationship, with the intent to criminalize doctors and manipulate patients' health care decisions. As physicians, we use our medical expertise and experience caring for our patients to advocate for the right to access abortion care in our communities.
