We worked directly with Alma and Ken taking care of our loved one, after an unexpected loss we had no clue where to start or even any idea what to do, and they helped us through every step. We are beyond pleased with their services and didn’t have to deal with any extra stress of coordinating extras like music and religious services during an already stressful time.
We honestly felt like they were taking care of family, I will always recommend this funeral home to anyone who asks.

The Staff at P.L. Fry & Son provided us with the best funeral service we could ever imagine for my father; specially during the COVID-19 restrictions. Family and friends that could not be physically present at the funeral were able to participate in the funeral service thanks to the live online transmissions provided. Family members in Mexico and in other parts of the U.S were able to accompany us from their respective homes via the online transmissions. The whole staff made the entire experience easy to navigate through. They were professional and caring. As we were setting up and had finalized all the arrangements the Governor closed everything again. Cathy gave us options and took care of all the changes. She could not have been more helpful. The staff on the day of the service was excellent. They saw that we were comfortable and stepped in to help to make everything run smooth.

We held a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for our 101 year-old grandmother Dorothy Aksland, at this Mortuary. My sister, Tina, and I called and scheduled an appt with Charla Carpenter-Ortiz. We are not from here but, this is where grandma came to settle her final affairs in advance. Thank the Good Lord for that. It was a pleasure from start to finish working with Charla. The level of compassion and professionalism was there at every turn. Charla welcomed us, listened carefully to our concerns and held our hands through it all. Jokes aside (me, not write corny jokes? never!), my extended family had to avail ourselves to P L Fry over the last few days. I am writing this review after the memorial of my great uncle, so my experience is still fresh. I couldn't get to the memorial, but I went to the visitation, so following is what I saw.

I would like to give this business a 5 stars. Despite the pain of loosing my mother, the customer service and all the services offered here were awesome. Alma Ochoa was our representative and she is awesome. She's bilingual Spanish which made it easy for our family. Everything was handled professionally and in a timely matter. Handling this difficult moment was easier with her help and professionalism. I definitely recommend this place. Enough parking, etc. They make your life easier during difficult times.

The people here are sent from Heaven above. Truly angelic. They helped my family so so much in celebrating the life of a loved one and we had the most beautiful service honoring my family member. Charla was heaven-sent! They even offered to livestream the service for the family out of state who couldn't attend! Helpful through the entire process of this very difficult time. Charla went above and beyond in meeting every one of our wishes and was always hands on and involved in the process. Always smiles and warm welcomes here. I'm so grateful for these folks. Staff at PL Fry was amazing throughout the entire funeral process for our beloved father. Staff member Kim was truly comforting and incredibly accommodating. She and her staff met every need both at the memorial and again at the gravesite which was three days later. The VFW of Escalon was one of the most amazing parts and they honored our father in every way he deserved. Thank you Kim, pastor Bill Barnett and Chaplain Casey for helping us give the best send off ever to our dad. With deepest appreciation and love, the Harris family and friends.

I was more than pleased with service here. The entire staff from beginning-during-end was great! Alma was amazing!! She was very compassionate, understanding, kind and went above to make my aunts service not only beautiful but just as I desired. Their location is very well kept & comfortable. I can go on and on about all levels of service this location provides and under the unfortunate circumstances you are faced with at a time like this... If I could assign more stars I would. My Father-In-Law passed away 3 days before Thanksgiving this year. The staff went out of there way to coordinate and help plan the memorial service for us. They really helped make the service something special and memorable.
Charla Ortiz was our Funeral Arranger. She made the family feel welcome and as comfortable as she could during this tough time. There was no pressure and Charla was very patient. She took her time explaining things to us and made herself available during this difficult time, especially given the Thanksgiving holiday.
