I recently had a gum graft procedure in the Dallas TX area before traveling to northern California on business.

Almost half of all adults over the age of 30 in the United States suffer from gum disease. Gum disease, or periodontal disease, is an inflammatory disease that affects the soft and hard tissue that support the teeth. Several study have shown a connective between periodontal disease and a variety of other disease including heart disease, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr. Choi and Dr. Conte are trained periodontists here to restore your gingival health, treat your receding gums, restore your missing teeth with dental implants, all which can help with your overall health. We will work together with your dentist who has referred you to our office to help restore your periodontal health and dental function.
We hope to build a relationship with our patients that will help benefit your oral and periodontal health as well as your overall health. In consideration for your fellow patients, we ask that you provide at least two business days of notice if you cannot keep your appointment. A missed appointment fee may be assessed for last minute cancellations.

Since my first review, I've had my frenectomy and gum graft. Both turned out perfectly. Dr. Choi is a remarkable periodontist and an extremely kind person. There isn't a lot that I can say about my procedures other than they couldn't have gone any better. After both, Dr. Choi called me from his home on the evenings of the procedures to make sure everything was OK. He also offered his home phone in case I needed something.

After reading all the great yelp reviews, I am very disappointed with my consultation. From the moment I walked in, he didn't even introduce himself. He immediately just start measuring my gum lines. Also, Dr. Choi was very rude and impatient when I did not have my x-rays sent to his office. In most cases, all the dentist I have seen would take new x-rays in their office or have me wait a few minutes to have my general dentist office send him the x-rays while he can work on another patient in the meantime. But he did none of these. Instead, he asked me to come back another day and did not

Nobody enjoys going to the dentist, or periodontist. And nobody expects a pleasant experience for any sort of surgical procedure. However, Dr. Choi's level of professionalism and his skill made my experience more than bearable. Scheduling was easy. The start of the appointments were prompt. Comfort level due to bedside manner of Dr. Choi and his entire staff was great. Procedure was smooth. Finally the results look fantastic. Thank you to Dr. Choi and everyone at his office.

OK, looks like "Patty S. " gave Dr. Choi a ONE star review on this site and yet the review reflects absolutely NOTHING about this dentist's competence. This is the problem with YELP. The public has no clue how to rate a healthcare professional. Pathetic. This is NOT a reason to give a fabulous dentist a one star review. Poor staff shouldn't pull down a good doctor's rating. I'm in health care and familiar with Dr Choi's work, reputation and skill. He's also a graduate of UCSF School of Dentistry which is one of the best dental schools in the country and

I was recommended to see Dr. Choi for a procedure which had several steps and required me to visit many times over the course of 8 months. I had ample time to assess both Dr. Choi's skill and his staff. Everyone was professional, kind and accommodating of my difficult scheduling needs. I would recommend Dr. Choi to anyone, without reservation, and I completely understand why so many dentist use him as their go-to recommendation.

I was referred to Dr Choi and wasn't able to get in for 6 weeks. Upon arriving early and filling out the necessary paperwork, I was taken to the exam room where I was asked the same questions that I just answered on the paperwork. Dr Choi seemed nice and confirmed that I needed a procedure but when I asked for the price he had to confirm with the front desk. No big deal. He came back and told me that I needed to speak with the front desk. The lady at the front desk said that she couldn't give the estimate because she wasn't able to verify my insurance since she had been looking at

Dr. Choi is a very skilled, knowledgeable and gentle Periodontist. He pulled a tooth for me and subsequently gave me an implant. Both were a first for me. It was all seamless. He explained the process all very well, both pre- and post-procedures as well as swelling/pain management, if any. They use nitrous oxide which is a plus for me. The dental chair is extremely comfortable (massage-setting). The office staff is very pleasant and they explain/breakdown the fees clearly so you know what to expect. The office is in an office park with ample parking. I was able to get all of my questions

Let's face it, no one wants to go see a dentist or a periodontist, but if you have to go see someone, Dr. Choi is as good as they come. Every time I have visited, he and his staff have been great.

Dr. James Choi impressed me. I did a gum graft recently and he made the process extremely painless and fast. His work was swift and decisive, and I was in and out of his office in no time. My recovery was quite painless and correct, and I enjoyed seeing him.
I would highly recommend seeing him for any Periodontal work. Dr. George Wong referred me to him, a great general DDS.

Dr. Choi explained what needed to be done and my options. As most people I am little reluctanct to see the dentist until it is absolutely required. His procedures went smoothly and I was more than pleased with his work. It was a rather extensive periodontal procedure and he followed up with a phone call that evening to see how I was doing. I have never had a doctor do that. I have since returned to him for more work and I would highly reccommend his to anyone.

Dr. Choi was recommended to me by my regular dentist Dr. Chacon (who is fabulous!). I needed gum grafting, and even though I am a complete wuss on these things, Dr. Choi and his staff were marvelous. He explained everything he would do "in plain English" without the medical mumbo-jumbo. Everyone treated me very respectfully and with great warmth. He showed me a PowerPoint of the procedure so I knew what to expect. On the day of the procedure, everything went great. I was nervous, and it was so nice that his assistant patted my hand when he gave me the shots to numb the surgical site
