Did you have chicken pox as a child? You may develop shingles as an adult, which is an often painful rash, typically on the left or right side of the torso. For most adults, the symptoms clear up in 2-4 weeks. For others, the pain continues after the rash has cleared up. This is called postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), a complication from shingles that occurs when damaged nerve fibers send messages from your skin to your brain.

I’ve been going to for Affinity Acupuncture for a few months now, and wow, what a difference. I’ve suffered from chronic shoulder pain for about 10 years now. I tried to get relief with other methods such as massage, or using a heat pad or ice bag, and that provided temporary relief. I have been dealing with chronic pain for 6 months due to an IT Band Syndrome diagnosis. Physical Therapy wasn’t helping at all and I couldn’t get any relief. I went to Affinity Acupuncture about a month ago and the improvement is AMAZING! The staff is very professional and William knows his stuff! I have had a chronic dull neck pain from a car wreck several years ago. I had thought of trying acupuncture for awhile but never followed through.
It wasn’t until I injured the left side of my neck almost 2 months ago. The pain would start just behind my left ear lobe and shoot up to the left side of my head, causing intense headaches. I've been seeing William at Affinity for a few months now. I decided I was going to actually try acupuncture, so I did some research for places around Nashville. William Alexander does a great job, for me he has taken me from 4 to 5 migraines a week down to 1 or 2 a month, and they are not as severe.
