Alpha-gal allergy is also known as "red meat allergy" or "mammalian meat allergy". It is an allergy to a sugar found in most mammals called galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose (alpha-gal for short). Alpha-gal is not only found in the meat of mammals, it can be found in products derived from mammals. This includes some cosmetics, medications, personal hygiene products, vaccines, and more.
Franklin Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine provides an innovative form of allergy desensitization known as SAAT (Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment). This simple and non-invasive acupuncture technique eliminates any and all allergies and sensitivities in a short period of time. Previous allergy test results are not required prior to having SAAT, but they are welcomed.

My husband visited Dr. Nugent for his Alpha Gal allergy in May 2020. He had not been able to eat red meat or pork since September 2019. Dr. Nugent was very informative and explained the procedure beforehand. My husband had his needles put in and went back to have them removed after 3 weeks. Dr. Nugent gave him a detailed plan to work his way back up to eating both red meat and pork at normal levels. He has been enjoying both with no issues ever since. I would recommend Dr. Nugent for Alpha Gal or any other allergy issues.

I was diagnosed with Alpha Gal in 2015. My reactions were strong enough that I had to carry an epi pen with me everywhere I went. I am a paramedic and RN with over 34 years of medical experience so I am very aware of what could happen. A person came into a clinic I was working at and when I seen his ear and asked what it was he told me about SAAT. An awesome experience. Scott, makes you feel at ease right away. I came in because I was having frequent migraines, chronic neck pain, and high levels of anxiety. I tried acupuncture the first time not realizing what an impact it would have on my life. I gave it a shot because I have a chronic disease being managed by a specialist doctor using western drugs with harsh side effects. I have had total success with the SAAT procedure done by Scott. My reactions to alpha gal we’re GI issues and hives. Mine started in 2001 with a reaction to beef and pork. At that time Alpha Gal was unknown. I immediately stopped eating beef and pork. I had two needles placed one for dairy and one for alpha gal. Answer to my prayers!!! I've had back pain for over 10 years & no one knew why. I now have a 6 month old baby & since having her my back was chronic....every day! I originally wanted to try acupuncture to help with anxiety & depression as an alternative to the pharmaceuticals I’ve been taking for nearly a decade that never really helped. I also wanted to ween off of Xanax that I’d become chemically dependent on.
