In 1999, Dr. Janet Simon, a board certified podiatrist and pedorthist and Peggy Lucas-Swisher, a board certified pedorthist, opened Sole Comfort Shoes, a comfort-shoe store and pedorthic facility. Our mission is to fully assess painful lower extremity conditions that prevent or inhibit individuals from living an active life style and to provide professional footwear fittings and evaluations.
Many foot, lower extremity and back problems are directly related to biomechanical problems and improper shoes. And many other pedorthic modalities to support or accommodate whatever foot issues you may have. The sky is the limit of what we can do to help footwear accommodate your needs, wants or requirements.
Sole Comfort carries quality shoes from around the world to meet all YOUR comfort footwear needs. From exercise-walking shoes to comfort casual shoes-sandals-boots to comfort dress to custom made shoes and boots. Our shoes are chosen to be able to accommodate orthotic users in a variety of widths and styles.
Sole Comfort carries an extensive selection of shoes to accommodate bunions and bunionettes. Beside our vast inventory, we have the skills and expertise to customize footwear, whether bought at our facility or elsewhere, to relieve painful bunions and bunionettes. Bunions refer to a bony prominence or enlargement at the dorsal or medial head of the first metatarsal phalangeal joint (mpj).

If bending forward to try on shoes was exercise, I would be in great shape by now. I have a lot of shoes. As of yesterday, I have finally have two pairs of shoes that fit! Thanks to the expertise of Jim Matteucci at Sole Comfort Shoes in El Dorado Square on Montgomery, maybe now I'll walk enough to actually get in shape!

This was the best shoe buying experience of my life, and I'm old. You're not just buying shoes, you're buying a specialized fit. Peggy is incredibly knowledgable and experienced. She knew exactly what was going on with me and how to correct it. Really, she was simply amazing. She does an exam, has you walk, finds a pair of shoes, and keeps having you walk, making adjustments until they are perfect. These are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had. I am a runner who has struggled for years with a biomechanical problem that I could not figure out. The staff at Sole Comfort Shoes are amazing human beings who really care about what works best for you when it comes to choosing footwear to accommodate your unique needs. When it comes to biomechanics, and understanding them, this is the place to go. I am so grateful for their knowledge (and was blown away by it) and the time they take to make sure you literally walk or run away in comfort.

We traveled 3 1/2 hours to visit Sole Comfort, largely based on so many favorable reviews. I am elderly and have a symptomatic neuroma in my foot which has severely affected my ambulation (despite multiple previous podiatric treatments) and my quality of life generally. Dave understood the problem, explained his suggestions for appropriate footwear and provided a solution which was immediately beneficial. We returned the next day to buy even more footwear, both for me and for my wife who enjoys hiking in the desert. You will rarely, if ever, find someone as knowledgeable and as effective as Dave

I told Jim what my foot issue was and he listened, measured my foot, explained things to me, like most people don't wear the proper size shoes because feet need to be able to elongate and splay out. He took a video of me walking so he could better help me too. I was surprised when he brought out a few shoe brands, and styles in a size to 2 sizes larger than my foot measured. But you know what? They fit and felt so comfortable! The bottom line is Jim knows feet and what you need for your particular foot issue. I bought 2 pairs of shoes (a sandal and an athletic style). My feet are happy, I am happy

I have been coming to Sole Comfort Shoes for almost 18 years. The staff is remarkable and their attention and care of you. They become like personal friends and family. Peg and Jim have always served me so well over these many years and I provided me with the best comfort and shoes anyone could ask for. They will not sell you something that you do not need and will provide you with great feedback that will help your walk, and your life feels so much more comfortable! Do NOT, I repeat do NOT, go to this business. They stole $500 from my grandmother. I took her in to get 3 different pairs of shoes lifted. The first ones were in store so we bought them, paid for the shoes themselves, the consultation fee, and the lift on them. We got those ones just fine. However, we ordered another pair of sandals that they didn't have in stock in her size, and they told us they would be getting them in a few weeks. So we paid for those sandals, the lift, another consultation fee and an attachment to go on top. When we saw the finished product, we didn't like the color

I was excited to find out that Sole Comfort Shoes carries the Alegria brand, so I immediately went there. What a disappointment! Alegria makes shoes in many colors, but the only choices at Sole Comfort were black and brown. Also, their prices were ten dollars more than what I pay elsewhere. I was told by the owner/manager that more colors would be arriving any day. I went back to the store several more times. Again, my only choices were black or brown, so I gave up.

I went there with my son because we had been recommended by a doctor. He had very flat feet. We walk in and the employees were busy so we sat down to wait our turn. I was sold shoes that were the wrong fit!! My heel slipped up and down and rubbed blisters all over my feet!! When I traveled 2 1/2 hours to get the situation fixed, I was told it would take trial and error and my purchasing MORE shoes and expensive orthotics in order to have the right fit...each time I would have to pay for them!!! The attendant even tried to diagnose me as a diabetic- something that would surprise my doctor!! I am now stuck with expensive bricks and they refused to fix the situation. I was interested in new shoes to provide relief of foot problem. waited 35 minutes while both sales people dealt with customers. Sales person very nice and seemed to help. shoes recommended. indicated on wanted to do personal review of shoes. Searched by brand to see reviews. also available were pricing. on the shoes web site the prices were $20-$30 mor3 expensive and $30+ on Shoes.com and Zappos. I went in on recommendation of a friend. I was having some knee and hip pain, but didn't believe that a pair of shoes would make a difference. I was wrong! My feet are messed up. Big time. I had no idea how much until recently, when I went to a doctor and actually looked into it. Wow. I'm amazed I'm even able to walk. But - there are ways to compensate, and good, therapeutic shoes are one of them.
I am not a typical shoe chick with oh so many multiple pairs of shoes, and I am not obsessed with shoes in any way, but I do like to have a modicum of cuteness to my shoes - I am a chick, after all. So "therapeutic" shoes are not my idea of happiness. But Sole Comfort has a pretty decent range of shoes, so I was able to find three pairs
