Lala is truly the best. Her absolutely stunning, over the top glam, attention detailed, complete PERFECTION cakes are truly to die for. The taste is delicious as well and is always soo fresh. She always goes above and beyond for every cake and you will seriously feel her love in every one! The most beautiful, perfect cakes you have ever seen in your life. Update : After writing this review ,
Lala sends an email to my wife claiming we wrote this review to get a refund which is not true . Then
Lala goes on Instagram to trash us . Very classy .
And for both orders , Lala was contacted 6 days before we were to pick up , not 3 days like she mentioned in her reply to this review ( emails have dates & times ) .
Poor customer service . My wife paid a deposit for two cakes and cupcakes for a baby shower in November . We had to reschedule our event twice due to circumstances beyond our control ( once due COVID case in our home & the second time due to

I have ordered cupcakes and three cakes (and counting) from Lala, including my wedding cake. Her cakes are absolutely STUNNING and beyond what I ever thought they would look like! The detail on each cake is unreal and everyone is obsessed when the cakes come out. Not only are the cakes gorgeous, they will literally be the best cake you have ever tasted! After our wedding by husband even had me order cupcakes from Lala just because he was obsessed with our wedding cake and wanted to eat it again! Don't waste your time ordering a cake from anywhere else :)

You know how they say no one eats the cake at weddings? WHEN LALA makes the cake at your wedding everyone will eat the cake! We were so happy with the cake at our wedding. Lala did an amazing job designing the cake and delivering. She used amazing fresh flowers to decorate the cake. We picked out the cinnamon cookie butter flavor and we could not have been more pleased with the cake. To this day everyone tells me how amazing the cake tasted at my wedding. THANK YOU LALA

There are no words to describe Lala’s talent- she is my family and I’s go to person for Cakes. I drive over an hour away for her cakes for family events. The detail, talent, taste, and HER overall- nothing compares. I can’t wait to keep getting CAKED BY LALA 💗💗💗 the best there is! Her professionalism, class, and customer service are also unmatched. Very poor customer service. I've worked with Lala in the past, and her cakes are indeed beautiful. But it seems like she's become too busy for her clients. I confirmed my cake order via email months in advance, including the style, size and price. When it came closer to our date and I inquired about details, she denied our booking despite our email correspondence and refused to accommodate me despite her error. She didn't even seem like she cared. I would not recommend her for large special occasions. Now at the last minute, I have no cake for my event.

Absolutely love! She made my birthday cake last year and it was so beautiful, exactly what I wanted! Lala was able to create a gorgeous pink cake that matched everything I asked for. She was responsive and professional in all interactions and I plan to order with her again for my birthday this year! ❤️ I also have ordered an assorted treat box from her this past Valentine’s Day it was very unique and a creative assortment of different treats. Definitely recommend ordering with her.

Found Lala on Instagram and knew instantly I needed to have my daughter’s birthday cake made by her. I ordered a vanilla cake with Oreo filling, as well as a few dozen cakesicles in red velvet, funfetti and cookie butter. All were delicious, but my favorite was definitely the cookie butter! I sent her an inspiration photo for the cake, but ultimately gave her creative freedom to do whatever she wanted. The cake came out so fun! The theme was Trolls and I love that the cake colors matched the party decor perfectly. Will be ordering from Lala whenever I am in need of a show stopping cake!

This woman is truly the BEST baker in the DMV. Listen, if you want a delicious cake, decorated perfectly, and a show stopper book with her. She made my 26th birthday cake and it was fantastic. The flavor was perfect and definitely met my expectations. She was responsive and met my needs. It was easy to pick up my cake and did not move the entire hour drive to my destination. PS: get the Oreo filling!!

I emailed lala about a cake for my son. I sent her a beyblade cake, she said no sorry can't do that. I said ok what kind of cakes do you do for kids. She said I don't have any options do send.. she wasn't helpful I emailed her multiple times and texted her. She said she was available 12/4 but never answered. I saw that she posted on social media that she is available 12/6 I jumped right on and emailed her AGAIN about just a simple cake with specific colors and if candy can come out when you cut it. She responds sorry I can't do it that this weekend 5 days later

If you're in the DMV, I highly suggest you contact Lala to make your cake! I found Lala on Instagram and immediately began emailing her about the order. She was prompt, helpful and so easy to work with. The cake not only looked amazing, but it tasted great too! Everyone was pleased, and I wouldn't hesitate to work with her in the future.

Sooo thankful I found Lala for my wedding ceremony cake!!!! I want to say it was through Yelp but she's much bigger on Instagram @cakesbylalae - check her out. She worked with me to modify what the cake will look like based on my fluctuating guest count. She was able to create this DREAM of a cake to match my outfit and decor. Just an excellent home baker following her dreams and doing an amazing job of it! I found her on Yelp with only 1 review and decided to take a chance with her! I needed a cake in 48 hours that could serve about 25 people and she delivered in that short of a timeframe!

This is probably one of the best cakes i've ever had . I asked Lalae to make my babyboy's first birthday cake , i showed her what i wanted and she made exactly what i asked for with her own touch ! The color , the flavor , the look ..everything was just perfect !

Lala made us the most beautiful floral Mother's Day cake. Even my kids were amazed by it and wanted to take pictures of it! It looked like a mini garden of real flowers with wonderful vibrant colors. It also tasted AMAZING! We got the cookie butter filling, which is to die for! Definitely going to be ordering from this friendly, capable baker again!!!

I contacted Lala last minute for a cake for my daughters lol surprise theme birthday party. She responded immediately and was extremely informative and kind.
I provided her with the theme and color scheme, and she nailed it! The cake came out way better than I imagined. Not only did it look great but the taste was AHHMAZINNGG. We got so many compliments! Looking forward to ordering again very soon.

It's rare that you find a baker that can make a cake that tastes good AND look good. Ordered a unicorn cake for my daughter's 9th birthday. She's obsessed with unicorns and Cakes by Lala was the only local bakery that was able to do a unicorn cake that I liked. The cake was absolutely gorgeous. My daughter loved it. It was very moist too which you don't get so much with nice looking cakes. I'll definitely use them again for another occasion.

Lala made my daughters first birthday cake and a smash cake! They were both stunning and exactly as we requested. Lala went above and beyond and provided exceptional customer service making sure she had a clear vision on the cakes we wanted. I've been trying to get her to mail cakes to LA because we haven't found a baker in a California who has lived up to Rivers first cake.

As a person on my 5th cake from Lala I can honestly say I have NEVER been disappointed with any of her cakes . They are not only beautiful but also delicious and this isn't something you can get everywhere or everytime you buy a cake . The same goes for the cupcakes which I happen to order almost everytime I buy a cake from her ! As for Lala herself she is incredibly kind , Patient, Flexible and detail oriented . I will continue to support her and I definitely recommend you order from her she will not disappoint.
