Garb-el is a family owned business that began in Buffalo, NY in 1950 manufacturing disposal equipment for the restaurant industry. While disposers were not a new idea, Garb-el took an innovative approach to design, introducing an auger feed disposal unit with a hammermill pulverizer. We have always been a pioneer in the industry and realized our product line was a natural fit for supermarkets, restaurants and food processors.
James M. Carbone joined Garb-el Products Company in 1973 as a sales manager working with a small national sales team and a limited number of independent service companies. In short time, he more than doubled Garb-el's annual sales and increased the number of national service agencies to coincide with the needs of Garb-el's growing customer base.
Garb-el helps supermarkets immediately save money by eliminating the heaviest, wettest and most odorous portions of their waste stream while also reducing truck traffic and their carbon footprint. Garb-el offers the largest and most varied selection of produce and trim stations on the market.

Installed in hospitals, vivariums, universities, laboratories and government facilities, Garb-el's bedding waste disposers add convenience and efficiency in the disposing of soiled bedding, shavings, cellulose compounds and paper board from cages and excreta trays. Garb-el's "S" Series bedding waste disposers are designed to be installed inline with a tunnel washer either under a stainless steel workstation or a custom fabricated roller table.
Garb-el's GHV models were specifically developed for food and produce processors and wholesale food packaging companies where waste accumulation and elimination present a problem. These heavy duty units are available in 7, 10 and 20 horsepower models to meet your waste requirements at a rate of up to 10,000 lbs/hour.
