Sound Building Systems, Inc. is a family-run company operating in Kitsap, Mason, Clallam and Jefferson counties. Founded by Rick Welter in 1996, the business moved from Kingston to Port Ludlow in 2001. Rick has been building post frame buildings since 1975, starting in Pennsylvania where he became a crew foreman at the age of 19.
In 1981 he moved to Washington state, continuing in the business of constructing pole buildings. SBS builds primarily residential garages, but we also construct shops, barns, hangars, horse arenas, carports, and at special request commercial buildings. Our goal is to provide quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

All of our buildings require site specific engineered plans so we can design the building to meet your needs. To start the planning of your Pole Frame building we have provided a PDF work sheet for you to download so that we can provide you with an accurate bid (see Downloads).
