The Dixon Building was built in 1879, and is the oldest building in downtown North Platte. Dixon Optical and Dixon Jewelry occupied space in this building for 77 years, thus the building became know as the "Dixon Building". It is our goal to update the facade to historically represent these two long standing businesses in North Platte.
North Platte established the Mutual Building and Loan Association in 1887. The association was lead by many prominent leaders and allowed the average citizen to afford a home. By 1914, the Mutual Building and Loan Assoc. Today the Mutual Building is being renovated and will provide many with a unique office in North Platte.
