David is extremely helpful and honest. He genuinely wants you to understand how your home operates, in addition to giving you a fair assessment of the condition of your chimney. Inspected flue pipe and determined it was completely blocked. Regular furnace service guys never checked this. All the combustion gases from the furnace and hot water heater had been going into the house for a long time. Mr. Chimney Man probably saved our lives. Highly recommended. Don't trust those furnace service guys.

Dave is amazing! He was extremely professional and has a great deal of knowledge. He took the time to explain lots of different options to us and likely saved us a great deal of money that we would have spent unnecessarily if we had contacted a different company. We never felt like he was rushing to be done with the job. As a bonus, he was very kind to our children. We definitely will call him again when need anything done with our chimney and highly recommend him to others!

He was so knowledgeable and spent time with us explaining our type of chimney, how to build a fire, how to make sure that we are safe when using the fireplace, and even gave us options for down the road like a wood stove insert! We learned so much about our fireplace as first timers. My dog also loved him so he sat in the floor with her, which goes a long way in my book. I will definitely be using him moving forward for all of our chimney needs!

Dave did a great job in my chimney relining project. He was involved from initial inspection and evaluation of existing masonry chimney through liner and new woodstove installation. All along the way he answered my (many) questions and gave plenty of practical advice. Dave is professional, knowledgable and friendly. Would recommend his services to others.

I met David R Doherty 18 years ago ... when I had just moved into my 80 year old home in Dewitt. When he arrived at my door I was feeling very vulnerable. I'd had a chimney person out to inspect the chimney before I used it and this "professional" identified about $1000 worth of work I'd need to do if my family was to be safe. I thought, "I need a second opinion." Enter Dave.
He came, he actually did a careful inspection (unlike the first guy) and he said, "It's old, but what it needs is regular cleaning not all that stuff he tried to sell you.
