Come to the best karate classes for kids in town, taught by the most experienced teacher in Utah, Master Joe Perry, and Sensei Leila. We are now offering in-studio group classes & private lessons for all of our students at this time. Extra group classes* have been added to keep class sizes small. Students use our scheduling app to save their spot in class since class sizes are limited.
Group classes give students the opportunity to work together to build their martial arts practice. Technique practice and drills are really beneficial in a group setting. Most students come to two to three group classes per week, but are welcome to come to as many as they like at no extra charge! All Classes are a full hour.
Private lessons allow the student to have valuable time with the teacher with one to three students to work on their skills and other specialties within the martial arts. Ask about our advanced training programs that include private lessons. All private lessons are 30 minutes and can be scheduled to take place at the studio or online, it's up to you! Members, please email perrysdojo@gmail.com to schedule a private lesson.

Even though I haven't been to 'The Dojo', I trained under Master Perry 20+ years ago under a different dojo name and really enjoyed it. He was always knowledgeable, caring, and understanding, and you really felt like he was helping you to be your best (also he was just enjoyable to be around). My wife and I just signed ourselves and our children up for lessons at a different dojo, but if I lived closer to Orem I would definitely have gone back to Master Perry and The Dojo.

I've been attending The Dojo for karate since January. Master Perry is knowledgeable, encouraging, and fun. I've watched him with the kids' classes, and he does a great job at keeping the little ones engaged and on task. For the adults, he keeps us moving along at whatever pace we can handle. Definitely recommend for both adults and kids.

Karate at The Dojo is not only a valuable experience, but fun, laugh-filled, and safe. Everyone is welcome and can and will succeed.
Master Perry cares about and believes in us students and wants us to succeed. He is personable and funny. He helps us feel confident and safe asking questions, and we never feel dumb about the questions we ask.

Positive: Professionalism
Perry sensei is awesome. He makes his students feel comfortable and welcome, he patiently pushes them to progress, and the kids love him as a teacher. He's passionate about martial arts and self defense. I wish more teachers loved teaching as much as he does. We've been going for years, would recommend to anyone.

I have had so much fun here in the past couple of months that I have participated and it really has been essential to me. In these hard times it has been so calming to do these super well designed martial arts work outs and they are also a lot of fun! I also really enjoy how they have dealt with the pandemic in setting up ways that we can still indulge in it while staying safe. with the 30 minute in person/socially distanced/ and masked lessons once a week, and the whole class 1hour zoom lessons twice a week i really have learned a lot, had fun, and stayed safe. it really is the perfect place and

I've been training under Master Perry for twenty years, and I am still learning and growing as a martial artist from Master Perry's teachings. Master Perry has vast knowledge in martial arts, he trains students with great details, and he is great with kids. I would recommend The Dojo to any man, woman, kids, and family that want to learn martial arts or even just to give it a try.

I started training at the Dojo with Master Perry about 4 months ago and it has been an amazing experience. I spent 20 years competing in a variety of endurance sports and was looking for something different but still challenging. Martial arts with Master Perry has been just what I was looking for. It is both physically and mentally challenging, and very rewarding. I am in my mid-50s and was a little nervous about how I would fit in but Master Perry and the other students have made me feel welcome. Training at the Dojo has been a great experience and I highly recommend it for anyone interested in

Master Perry is awesome and I love going to class and learning new skills. Learning martial arts has been a bucket list item for me for several years, but I just started going to The Dojo with Master Perry a year and a half ago. We learn traditional karate, self-defense, and grappling in class. I go to the adult classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We have sparring class on Saturday afternoons as well. He is great a teaching people of all levels, ages, and makes it fun for everyone. If you want to learn martial arts, The Dojo-Perry's Martial Arts is the best place to go!

I decided to try a class here just out of curiosity seven years ago. Right from the start, I could tell this was a special place and I've never looked back. Master Perry is an amazing martial artist and instructor. He has a very clear way of teaching and a great sense of humor along with it. We have fun, we work hard and, most importantly, Master Perry helps us learn the material well. I love this dojo!

Master Perry is an incredible teacher who works with the needs of each individual. Of the 4 different Martial arts schools I've attended, his is by far the best! His prices are very reasonable, he focuses on essential self defense skills, and enables each of his students to become the best version of themselves. When you sign up at The Dojo, you don't just gain a hobby, you gain a family.

I have known Master Perry, the head instructor, since he began teaching me as a 9 year old 28 years ago. He has been teaching non-stop for 30 years in Orem. You will be hard pressed to find a more qualified, passionate teacher in Orem. He has continued to grow as a martial artist and a teacher throughout his career, honing his skills with varied masters including the monks at the Shaolin Temple. He is the perfect karate instructor for kids, making martial arts fun. Now that I have kids of my own I would not send them to anyone else. Master Perry literally changed my life for the better.

I have been studying with Perry's Martial Arts for the past year and a half and it is my favorite part of the week. I go to the adult class every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and just love learning new skills. Master Perry is an amazing teacher for students of all ages and abilities and is always teaching us to get better and better. He has trained with great instructors and really knows his stuff. I feel like I am a part of a community in class and have made some really good friends along the way. I can't say enough good things about Perry's Martial Arts, and his yoga classes

I studied under master Joe Perry for 14 years and I have never seen a better instructor of children, teens, and adults. I have studied under other teachers and nobody compares to master Perry. He is a humble master and therefore creates humble students who know their strengths and weaknesses. Master Perry adapts his instruction to each student to maximize their natural talents and to create the best martial artist they can be. He also knows how to maximize the effectiveness of stomach crunches by telling jokes as the class tries to keep up. Crunching while laughing is extremely difficult and my
