Norman A. Williams founded the company in 1946 after returning from serving in the U.S Navy during WWII. Originally known as Norman Williams Refrigeration, the company was operated as a small family-owned sales and service company for 25 years in downtown Murphysboro, Illinois. Eventually, the business changed its name to Williams Air Conditioning and Heating, Inc. (WAC).
After attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Norman's son, Ted Williams, joined the company in 1972. As the market for residential and commercial air-conditioning grew, so did the company. In 1985, the offices and sheet metal shops were relocated from downtown Murphysboro to their current locations.

I had trouble finding anyone who could do my install in a timely manner right before Christmas. Heartland was able to squeeze me in. They called two hours ahead, and asked if they could come early (kudos both on the early and the call to see if it was OK). They completed the task quickly, efficiently, and for the agreed upon price - using modern industry best practices that many technicians skip. They will be my first call next time.

Bradley's service from Heartland Heating & Air was great! He was on time, worked quickly and thoroughly, and was very polite and professional. He was also very knowledgeable about the situation with my broken AC and took the time to explain it to me, which I greatly appreciated! My family has been relying on Heartland Heating & Air for the past 12 years and we have had only good experiences!
