Services
Jody Howe and Utah Bankruptcy Professionals have represented us in an extremely complex bankruptcy case since 2010. With the assistance of Jody Howe and her experienced team of paralegals, we are succeeding in our Chapter 13 case, are paying back a portion of our debt, and have attained a degree of financial stability.
Chapter 13 is a Section of the Bankruptcy Code which enables qualified individuals and small business owners to retain their assets and consolidate all or a portion of their debt under a Chapter 13 Plan payable over three to five years.

The Debtor must make a single monthly plan payment to the bankruptcy trustee throughout the duration of the plan, and the bankruptcy trustee distributes the plan payment among all of the Debtor's Creditors in amounts and priorities specified in the plan.Surplus income is all income received by the Debtor and his or her spouse that is not reasonably necessary for the support of the Debtor and the Debtor's dependents.
Is declaring bankruptcy your best option? Do you qualify for Chapter 7, or is a Chapter 13 filing the right fit for your circumstances? For expert answers to all your questions about filing for bankruptcy in Utah - and free advice on how to bring your financial troubles to an end - turn to Utah Bankruptcy Professionals.
KEEPING YOUR VEHICLE IN CHAPTER 7 IF IT IS PAID FOR - You can file Chapter 7 and retain a vehicle that is paid for depending on how much the vehicle is worth, and who is listed on the title. The present exemption in Utah is only $3,000 per person for one motor vehicle, so if your vehicle is paid for but worth more than $3,000, you might lose it to a Bankruptcy Trustee.
This includes filing under Chapters 7, 11 and 13. Chapter 13 Bankruptcy is the most common bankruptcy chapter filed to stop a foreclosure sale. Chapter 13 offers significant protection for individuals who have fallen behind on their home mortgage payments.

Under the Bankruptcy Code, individuals are permitted to catch up on all delinquent payments on mortgages and home equity loans against their primary residence over a three to five year period under the terms of a Chapter 13 Plan.Chapter 13 allows individuals to consolidate and catch up on all of their other debt at the same time.

Critical: Professionalism
Incredibly rude! I was actually hung up on by someone named Anita. Odd behavior for a representative of a company with the work "professionals" in their business name. I don't remember the last time I was hung up on....maybe in junior high school, perhaps?

Even though we are extremely nervous when filing for bankruptcy , the Utah Bankruptcy Professionsls made me feel comfortable the entire time. They never made me feel belittled because I got myself into this situation. They made sure I explored ALL the possible debts I had to include in my case. They offered a very reasonable payment plan as well. I would definitely recommend them to ANYONE in this unfortunate situation.

Spend your money somewhere else. Didn't explain all of my options. Which ending up costing me thousands. Couldn't even be bothered to show up to my hearing. Sent some putz who barely knew how to be a lawyer and knew nothing about my case. Overall left me feeling violated and cheated.
