The Cake Girl is a full service cake and cupcake shop located in Tampa, FL. We specialize in mini cupcakes, custom birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and gourmet ice cream. Every day in our store we have 10 flavors of mini cupcakes, that rotate every week through our 62 flavors. All of our cakes and cupcakes are made from scratch daily in our licensed, inspected and insured cake shop.
In addition to our specialty cakes and cupcakes we offer super premium ice cream. Daily we have 8 flavors of our premium ice cream, which are made right here in Florida! Our ice cream is made from 16% butterfat, which makes it super creamy with a delicious texture. Our ice cream goes great with our fudgy brownies and made from scratch cookie dough!

It all began back in 2009 when owner, Kristina Lavallee, followed her heart and started her own business. Every good recipe has a story- here is ours:. Since she was a young girl growing up in Puerto Rico she always had a passion for gourmet sweets. She would beg her parents to take her to the grocery store, just so she could see the cakes and baked goods.

It looks bright and happy inside. The service was great, they were very friendly. There were low in stock as they sold things earlier that day but they still had good options.
The cupcakes were moderately good. I liked what I had enough to try their other flavors one day. I tried a 4 pack of cupcakes with:
- Vanilla: vanilla cake with sprinkles & vanilla icing
- Black/white: vanilla cake with chocolate icing
- Alota colata: the icing had coconut in it, it has pineapple filling inside, the cherry is only on top which is good for me b/c I don't like cherry so the cake still tasted good

I sent an inquiry for a cake to be made however when several days went by with no response I called to let them know they proceeded to take my order over the phone. They were able to see the original email inquiry I sent with the reference photo attached. The gentleman on the phone said that it would be no problem but he did say that the sprinkles would be a different color which was fine with me. I asked to have happy birthday Hanan written on the cake which they said they could do. The design was extremely simple. As you can see from the photos whoever made this cake should not be designing cakes

Words cannot describe how amazing my experience was with the cake girl! I was ordering a specialty cake for my sons first birthday 26 days in advance and I got turned away by 3 different cake bakers and someone told me about the cake girl not only were they willing to take on the project but were sooo nice about every step of the process! They helped my coordinate some details of the design that I wasn’t sure about. And when I got there to pick it up they helped me carry it to my car. Wow, a chocolate vegan cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing. Simply divine, very dense and PERFECTLY decorated for the celebrant! The icing was SO yummy and not overly sweet. Hired Cake Girl based on a recommendation from my event coordinator. The team was easy to work with, they delivered on time and set up without any issues. We had them make a cake for our wedding anniversary party/pregnancy reveal + surprise gender reveal. The cake was very tasty and also looked wonderful. Will certainly use them again when we need another cake!

These cupcakes are so moist, it's ridiculous. I love tint, mini cupcakes so you can try different flavors. I love that they have different flavors every month. My favorite is the wedding cake. So soft and fluffy. I hate when sweets are too sugary tasting and this place is the total opposite. Very creamy and buttery. Love this bakery is in my neighborhood

I changed the cake flavors last minute and they did not mind at all. I will be coming back every year. I absolutely loved the cake it tasted amazing.

I would give 100 stars but the system only lets me give 5! All I can say is AMAZING! I had the Cake Girl make a 60th specialty cake for my coworker and they nailed it! The cake was absolutely amazingly awesome! Best cake decorators in Tampa! Also the cake tasted great, it was moist and soft. Everyone was in awe of this cake. If your looking for a specialty cake you absolutely absolutely absolutely need to let The Cake Girl do it for you. You won’t be disappointed, just look at the pictures I’ve uploaded! 50th BIRTHDAY CAKE DELIGHT!! My cake was absolute PERFECTION! It was as elegant as it was delicious. It was so moist and the flavors were out of this world! It exceeded my expectations in every way! The cake was even more beautiful than the picture I provided to the team. It was the main attraction at my party. Lesson learned. Buyer beware.
I sent 3 specific wish pictures for a large 2 tier (very girly gymnastics) custom cake and was given a Walmart quality red, white, and blue circus looking cake. Was promised a complete redo same day with delivery (as expected) and then I wasn't happy with that cake either. It was delivered 2 hours late and was very sloppy, including MISSING the correct filling I ordered (which is the only reason we got the cake from here was for that specific filling) instead they used a nasty buttercream. Another Walmart-like quality mistake.

Absolutely one of the best cakes! The cake is light, filled With strawberry and had incredible flavor. The entire experience was great and perfectly detailed from start to finish. The staff took their time to figure out exactly what my wants and needs were to design this cake specifically for me. The cake turned out beautiful and was one of the best cakes I had have ever tasted. Would love to order a cakes for events. Will definitely be back!

The Cake Girl created a wonderful custom cake for my wife's birthday! She is an abstract artist who has a gluten intolerance, so they were extremely accomodating in the cake and decoration. And abstract icing in the style of one of her paintings! Needless to say, it was a big hit! The staff at The Cake Girl are artists in their own right. I will never go anywhere else. I am originally from the northeast and have been missing my bite sized cupcakes from baked by Melissa in NYC. So I did a search and found the cake girl. The cupcakes here are amazing. So fresh and moist. Great presentation and flavor. The size is perfect. Two bites and done. I love the concept of a bite sized cupcake so that you get to try different flavors. What a great idea to have a flavor rotation. It makes me want to keep coming back to try others.

If you know me, you know I'm last minute Megan for everything. A week or so before my birthday I decided I wanted a cake. While I know Publix has some good cake I wanted something a little more than what Publix offers. So I'm looking online and at first I wanted a nerd cake with like Deadpool or marvel or Harry Potter on it. What I really wanted was a cherry cake like I can get back home in Michigan. I have been dying to get my hands on some of these mini cupcakes for quite some time now. Admittedly, i've never been a mini cupcake person until fairly recently ( I mean, come on, cupcakes are already a mini version of a cake as it is, am i right?) However, mini cupcakes definitely have their place. Other than being a smaller version of your favorite dessert so you won't feel as bad, it also gives you the opportunity to sample different flavors a bakery as to offer, which you really can't do with a standard size (even MY appetite is not big enough for that). Amazing carrot cake!!! I've tried many carrot cakes and hands down this bakery has the best cake. Moist, flavorful and addictive.
I'm always craving this stuff and luckily uber delivers from this place so I don't have to make the long drive.

I've visited the store once it was person and it was a great experience, so I ordered from cake girl again for an office birthday party and it went perfectly! Everyone loved the cupcakes and they were SO cute. I also had to call because I needed help with my online order and everyone was so helpful!! Will definitely order from here again.

Tonight I met with Kirby, one of the owners of The Cake Girl. He and his talented wife Kristina own and operate this locally run sweet shop! When you walk in the door- the sweet smell of happy childhood memories slap you in the face! The Cake Girl is located in Carrolwood but makes deliveries (see their website for delivery details)... you're only a half hour away from the moistest m&m cupcakes you've ever nibbled on in Hillsborough county! So this is regarding custom cakes. I haven't experienced anything else. I decided to have a very small (4 people) party last minute. The cake ordering process took about two days, she will respond at night so just keep that in mind. The total cake cost 100 and I feel like it's very worth it. I sent them that exact picture and told them I was flexible on the design and it came out exact. I'm excited to use them any other time I need a custom cake. Miniature delectable cupcakes - so moist with an abundant amount of icing compared to the cupcake that they teeter over! May I just add, fabulous idea to have miniature versions, so you can get a variety pack to sample before committing!
I ordered Mint, Churro, Red Velvet and Dreamsicle. Anything that has mint in it I am game for and not a bit of dryness at all, which is a huge pet pet peeve of mine. The Churro includes cinnamon in the icing as well as throughout the batter - so deeelicious!
They even provided curbside delivery since you couldn't enter the store and found out last Fri. that

So I'm about to order cake cups for my step daughter who lives in Massachusetts. I've ordered from The Cake Girl for 3 people since I first had cake cups 2 weeks ago and I'm making my 4th order. Shipping is free for their anniversary, so I have an excuse to order again!
The cake cups (which can be ordered in a set of 4 or 8) is a great way to try different cake flavors! I personally was eating them as my dessert and breakfast in the morning . I had to have this cake with my coffee!

My fingers are sticking to the keys of my computer because of this heaven sent buttercream...but I don't care! They are too good to stop eating.
Driving 45 minutes for cupcakes seems a little crazy, but as soon as I smelled the cupcakes I knew it wasn't craziness at all, in fact it was self love, support for local, and frankly the best thing I've done all week. Spoiler alert: the cupcakes tasted better than they even smelled. And the shop...freaking delightful (*reminds self to reach out and ask for vendors and companies they used to design the space*).
