We are teaching our online classes for you to enjoy and to maintain good health. We cannot wait to resume our in-studio practice, but for now the safety of our community is paramount. We wish everyone health and peace. Thank you for your continued support! Bloom Pilates is a great place to "grow" in your strength, flexibility, and confidence. Owner and teacher Amanda Wilhoit keeps the classes small so she can carefully observe and correct movements, which keeps her students safe and on target with their fitness goals.

Pilates is a functional form of movement which incorporates the movement of multiple muscle groups simultaneously. It was originally designed by Joseph Pilates for injured soldiers in WWI, and later he used it for dancers to increase their flexibility and strength. Pilates strengthens the muscles that contribute to good posture.
Our vision for the studio is to create a center where multiple wellness enhancing sessions take place, at different times on the schedule. The goal is to cross train our client's bodies, so that their muscles are challenged in a variety of ways. In addition, we want to offer things that enhance the mind and the spirit as well.
At Bloom Pilates and Wellness Center, we put a great deal of emphasis on teaching safe and effective movement. They offer significant savings over our regular rates, to help get you started at our studio. At least one private Pilates session is highly recommended before joining a group class, even if you've done Pilates before at another studio.
We currently have five brand new Balanced Body Reformer machines. All of our classes except Mat and Barre use the Reformers. Their function is to challenge the muscle groups with a system of pulleys and springs. Clients can work the legs, arms, abs, and back. Multiple muscle groups are activated at once, and clients are continuously being cued by the instructors to engage abdominal muscles to support the spine.
Pilates is different from most exercises out there because it's non-impact and safe, and it really works on using the body as a whole. With every exercise you are reminded to engage your abdominal muscles which protects your spine. You're also working the body very evenly and symmetrically, making sure one side is not working harder than the other.
