Services
Several styles of acupuncture are practiced at Rivertown Acupuncture. Each has its strengths, and I may utilize one or a combination, depending upon your diagnosis and presentation. Acupuncture Physical Medicine with dry needling is a meridian or channel based system that incorporates Western physical medicine techniques.
Rivertown Acupuncture often employs the use of trigger point needle therapy to alleviate various types of muscle pain. This is a highly effective and direct type of needling that is based upon the diagnostic system of referred pain and trigger points developed by Janet Travell, M.D. Rather than acupuncture points, the practitioner inserts a needle into muscle trigger points and manually stimulates.
Rivertown Acupuncture offers Tui Na as an adjunct to the acupuncture treatment, primarily for structural and muscular injuries and conditions. Tui Na (pinch and pull) is a therapeutic type of deep massage that has been a pillar of Chinese medicine for many centuries.
On the surface it may resemble Swedish massage because some of the techniques include gliding (effleurage), kneading, percussion, friction, pulling, rotation, rocking, vibration, and shaking. There are similarities to shiatsu, as both utilize the channel energy system and apply acupressure to specific acupuncture points.

The Japanese style known as KM (Kiiko Matsumoto) is characterized by abdominal palpation, the use of reflex zones, shallow needling, and a unique set of tools. At Rivertown Acupuncture diode rings and diode chains, the pachi-pachi, triple bypass cords and ion cords may be used as part of a KM treatment.

As usual Randi is EXTRAORDINARY!!! I could barley walk after throwing out my back I couldn’t even lift my right foot off the gas pedal to put it on the break pedal I literally used my hand to lift my leg - pain like I’ve never felt before!! In ONE treatment I was 99% fixed!!! After last week my follow up appointment I am healed!!!! With the tips to go home with and randis follow up bedside manner I am so grateful 🙏🏻

My most recent experience with Rivertown Acupuncture was a total life saver, I was suffering from sciatica on the left side of the body and on the right hip a different issue , I came in walking with a cane. Randi set up a weekly session schedule for me and with-in in 5 weeks I am walking without the cane. I go back once a month for a tune up. Her intuition and ability to balance my whole body is what separates this practice from other places I have been to.

Randi at Rivertown Acupuncture is a miracle worker! I have gone to her for treatment for physical relief of a injury and also used her for help in trying to get pregnant. My injury is better and my daughter is 4 years old now. I truly feel the acupuncture worked wonders. Randi is the most caring, gentle woman who goes above and beyond for her patients. She genuinely cares and it shows in her practice.
