Turul Foods Seattle, WA

A chimney cake (or in Hungarian "Kurtos Kalacs") is a traditional pastry from Hungary. It is wrapped around a cylindrical wooden spool and slowly turned over a gas grill. The dough is brushed with oil and coated with sugar. Once baked, it creates a crunchy outside with a soft and fluffy dough in the inside.

After this, there are a variety of toppings that can be placed on top of the sugary glaze! Our current menu only includes Chimney Cakes but we are going to be adding Langos (Hungarian Fried Bread) and Goulash soon! Turul Foods was founded for our passion for sweets and the love of our Hungarian heritage.

I studied abroad in Budapest a few years ago and the chimney cakes from Turul Foods hit a craving that I didn't know I had locked deep down. These taste exactly like the ones I used to eat on my way to class. Thank you for coming to the Tacoma farmers market, I'm so glad I stumbled on to you.

Chimney cakes are the bomb! My fave is the jalapeno cheddar! Steph loves the vanilla-sugar, but you can't go wrong with any of them! Now, the food is great, but Alexandra and Akos make the whole thing awesome! Thanks for introducing us to this special treat and we can't wait to get some more!!😎🤙👍

Great Farmers Market find. Had the Jalapeño cheddar chimney cake which was crisp on the outside and soft and pillowy of the inside. Fast and friendly.

Delicious chimney cakes that hit the spot when you're feeling like something sweet or savory. My favorite is the bacon cheddar one but the jalapeño cheddar is my close second fav

Awesome chimney cakes. Tried these at one of the markets in Tacoma area. The bacon and cheese, the jalapeno so good and savory. Felt like I'm in Hungary already. Will have to try to sweet ones next time ))

Wonderful traditional Hungarian sweet treat ! Really hit the spot! Love the oreo encrusted one Soft and fluffy inside , crunchy oreos outside and a little whip cream too! People at the booth were so friendly.
