Services
We are excited to share our Walton's Videos with you. Each video will give you a glimpse into what camp life is like for our campers and staff members. Many of our videos include footage from recent summers. Others include footage going further back into our summer history. See if you can find a vintage clip going back to the 1950's that includes a young Bob Stein.
At the time of enrollment, a non-refundable registration fee of $100, in addition to the tuition deposit, will be collected for each camper. The camp fee is all-inclusive except for transportation to and from camp and personal items purchased. A $75 Camp Store deposit will be added to your account for incidentals.
Adam and Julie met at camp and were married in 1991. Their daughters, Ella and Georgia, enjoy spending their summers at Walton's. Adam grew up in camp. He holds a Bachelors Degree and Teaching Credential from CSU Chico and is a former special education teacher and current high school basketball coach.
Walton's Grizzly Lodge counselors are college-age students who are hired for their enthusiasm and dedication to making your child's summer camp experience the best that it can be. Our mature, well trained counseling staff plays an important role in providing excellent care to our campers. Our counselors participate in a 10 day Staff Orientation and Training at the beginning of the summer.
Before electricity and refrigeration, our lake was used for harvesting ice. When the lake froze, workers on horseback would drag heavy saws that cut the ice into large blocks. Through a system of trenches, the ice was transported to a large three story building where it was stored until summer. The Western Pacific Railroad would then place the ice in cars carrying perishable goods.

I have been riding in the area of Grizzly Lodge for approximately 20 years long before the lodge ever existed it is an endless area of riding and if you keep exploring you can ride for days on end never cover your same tracks twice . I've been very fortunate to spend nights at the Grizzly Lodge spanning back to when it was just 6 of us in the whole lodge on New Years to being there last April when it was fully staffed along with 26 + guests . In all that time Adam and his crew have never lost the passion and care for each and every person that walks through the doors , the food and hospitality

When you are thinking of a summer camp, this is what you are thinking about. No cell phones, no game boys - fishing, swimming, singing around the campfire. My son did a safety class and got to shoot a gun. The counselors are enthusiastic, the owners are friendly and my son didn't stop talking for an hour after I picked him up. The perfect summer experience, so happy!!!
