Camp Augusta
Camp Augusta is about FUN with all of the activities you'd expect, but also so much more. In a small, tight, true community set in natural splendor, campers develop self-confidence, independence, social skills (emotional intelligence), creativity, activity skills, environmental awareness and appreciation, friendships, and healthy living skills.

Campers also learn what most modern children have forgotten - how to simply play and be a kid without television, video games, cell/smart phones, the internet, canned games, or social pressure. Our Director has over 25 years of camp experience, as well as his Ph. D. in developmental, social, and organizational psychology.
Services
Kids spend an average of 50 hours per week on digital media, where they are told what to buy, how to be 'cool, ' and who they should be. Camp offers a fresh perspective. Once here, campers gain the opportunity to leave behind peer pressure, excessive stimulation, and electronics in pursuit of nature, focused fun, and supportive, growth-oriented activities.
We are a nonprofit camp that serves boys and girls from all over the United States and the world. We do not discriminate. In the beginning, Camp Augusta was donated to the girls of Piedmont in 1931 by Edwin William Ehmann and Charlotte Ehmann. Augusta Collins was Charlotte's mother (and the namesake of Camp Augusta), and the lodge is named after William's mother, Frieda Ehmann.
Camp Augusta's mission is to provide children a safe, fun-filled experience that will serve as a catalyst for personal growth and an appreciation of the outdoors. We provide a supportive environment geared toward each child's needs and interests.

Our nurturing atmosphere is achieved by limiting our total number of campers per session, increased supervision, dedicated and caring staff, and the longest staff training in the country covering advanced topics in human and child development.
If dropping your camper off by car, please plan to arrive on the first day of the session between 2 and 3 PM. Please do not arrive before 2 PM as our staff will be in a meeting and unable to greet you. On the last day of the session, please pick up your camper between 8:20am and 9am - Breakfast starts at 8am, if you arrive before 8:20am, we may ask you to leave and come back again to ensure we have space for our busses.
We have a variety of incredible trips planned that offer a bit of a different twist on the typical Camp Augusta experience (if, indeed, anything at Camp Augusta can be considered 'typical'!). Our program is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 8-16. Campers are placed in cabin groups according to age, gender, and parental requests.

The magic of Camp Augusta for our kid is the amount of choice offered. There are such a variety of fun options that allow different kids to craft the camp experience that best fits their energy, interests, and moods. It reinforces the themes respect for self and others. Our kid went to Camp Augusta for the first time at age 12 & had a blast, and wanted to return every summer since then.

Our family has greatly benefited from Camp Augusta, in profound ways. This camp is special because it’s leader is highly educated in child development and seems quietly dedicated to improving the world one child at a time. Both our children went for the summers of their formative years and came away deeply happy, more social, more confident, and having learned life lessons like how to be healthy in community and individually. The camp’s choices of counselors are truly impressive people. They seem to look for and find the highest level interesting and good people. The last counselor my youngest

My son just completed his 6th consecutive year at Camp Augusta, he will be 15 years old when he attends his 7th season in 2022. Now, my daughter will be commencing her first year in 2022 and she is overly excited! My son loves to game and enlist technology in general when he is not playing basketball or football for his school. The week away at camp returns his mind and soul to the roots of being a kid and embracing the outdoors through an experience that I can say is unequivocal to any other. The staff, the other campers, the location and the various elements that support the camp activities are

I have found this camp and their staff to be the absolute best I have ever encountered. They have been instrumental in my child’s development into a curious, kind, creative young adult. We have been through 10 years of summer camp and occasional sessions of family camp and have always come away impressed and grateful.

Camp Augusta is an incredibly special place tucked into the Sierras. Kids are lucky to go there and partake in their magic, that seems to go on from the moment they wake up until they close their eyes. My three children have attended Camp Augusta for more than 10 years now, each having a unique and incredibly memorable experience where they are able to pursue very different interests.

Camp Augusta is simply the best summer camp in the world. The staff is exceptional and every counselor makes it a wonderful experience. They have so many fun activities from clinics to evening games. They have something for everyone, either in water, on ropes, 100 feet in the air, or the food. I will always come back and will never go anywhere else for a summer camp.

Attended a wedding there, staff was very friendly, helpful and there when the wedding party had any questions at all. But pretty much stayed out of the way, which was nice. The camping accommodations very rustic, but fun none the less, FUN. If this is not what people are looking for, there are a couple of hotels about 15 min away.
Plenty of hiking around the camp. The amphitheater, perfect place to get married. Secluded and had an ambient background sound of the waterfall. Later the dinner was in the lodge, warm, cozy and was catered. All in all, a great time for all in the woods of California

Camp Augusta was the second camp that I worked at, and I worked there full time from 2006-2013. What initially drew me in was the unique philosophy towards managing behavior with children. What I wasn't expecting was how much I would learn about myself during my time there - anyone who crosses paths with Augusta, whether they are a camper, parent, staff member, renter or school group experiences a community that intentionally reaches out and tries to make a difference in the world, one unique person at a time. There are campers I knew from 2006 who have now graduated college, and cite Camp

This amazing place rents itself exclusively during its off season. We just had our wedding there and it was the best weekend of our lives!

The property is incredible, the staff friendly & helpful and the programming(rock wall climbing, archery, zip lines, etc) were amazing!
I highly recommend for family reunions, weddings, corporate or non-profit retreats.
