It all started in a garage. After working as a tile setter for many years, John Tithof had his sights set on more substantial ideas; ideas like driving natural stone into the average household. In 1984, a Kenosha garage was turned into the first Tithof fabrication shop. To accommodate supply and demand, John purchased a larger Kenosha facility in 1994 and, subsequently, a secondary tile and marble location in Highland Park, Illinois.
The Illinois location has since moved to Northbrook, Illinois and serves as a boutique tile and stone showroom. Tithof has over 130 different varieties of stone, with 2000 slabs in stock, located at our 14,000 sq. Tithof is personally shopping national stone factories in countries such as Brazil, India and Italy for the most premium slabs of granite, quartzite and marble. The quality of Tithof's brand doesn't stop there.
Ceramic tile is a mixture of clays and other natural materials. The special clays are mined from the earth, shaped, colored and then fired in kilns to remove moisture. Traditional Ceramic tile can be naturally colored and left unglazed like terra cotta, or be glazed in either a high gloss or matte finish.
At Tithof we thrive on challenging projects that push the limit of creativity and design. We work closely with the area's top general contractors, architects, designers and kitchen and bath firms to provide the most competitive quality for value. We offer many custom features to enhance your project, such as the integration of natural stone sinks, custom edge profiles, drain board systems, thinning, mitering and laminating.

The experience of deciding where to get your new countertop can be overwhelming . From the first impression of Tithof to the last we were very pleased. The inventory of granite for you to choose from was impressive to the courteous staff that give honest advice to what me be the best choice for your needs. They are patient and not pushy, prices are reasonable and the installers were very professional . Eddie and Malek were cautious friendly and took pride in their work. I would recommend this place top notch!

I have called 5 times over the course of 3 weeks to get pricing on a piece of marble for a bar top. Not sure if the project is too small and they can't be bothered, but I feel like they shouldn't say they sell remnants if they can't be bothered with it. Every time I call they tell me a designer will call me back and they never do. Very unprofessional business. Don't waste your time.

An excellent experience from initial shopping stages to gather information about what product would work best for us, through the sale, measuring, installation, and post installation follow-up. Marybeth in Sales was passionate about helping us make our dream kitchen a reality. Brett was informative during the measuring process. The installers were professional and courteous. After doing extensive research, we decided to use Tithof to fabricate and install our granite kitchen countertop. What sealed the deal was working with MaryBeth. She has confidence in her company and assured us that they would deliver us a beautiful countertop. Well, they exceeded our expectations! MaryBeth walked us through every step of the process. We were even invited, and able to give our input, to the final layout of the countertop before it was cut. It was our pleasure doing business with the people at Tithof. When I entered the building to talk to someone, everyone was helpful and friendly.
Mary Beth, my sales associate, went above and beyond to answer my questions and make sure I was happy, even when she was off for the day. She made me feel extremely important, stayed professional while making me feel like a friend, not just a customer.
Randy, who made the final measurements, was very kind and answered any questions I had and explained things well. I truly liked that he arrived on time because I'm a timely type of a person.
Gina sure has a great eye in figuring out exactly which part of the slab

Tithof is the Gold Standard in granite fabrication. We just completed a huge project where they set the counter tops and high back splashes in one day. They operate with a very high level of sophistication. Jason is the consummate professional. It appears that he knows everything there is to know about granite and granite installation.
