I called in early November and got an appointment to clean and inspect for December 7th. Oscar came out, cleaned, inspected, and gave me an estimate for a) fixing the top of the chimney and b) power-washing the outside of the chimney near the top and shellacking it to seal it. He also said the fireplace box needed repair. Since it was so old, he said he would email me with an estimate after he did some research on the parts. That was December 7th and as I write this on January 23rd, I am still waiting for a price. Now, I'm going to have to get someone else to come in and give me an estimate

I had a cleaning schedule for today between 9 & 11. No one showed up. So I call to find out they have moved my time to 12 to 2 and no one let me know. I had taken off work this morning for this. I just can't take off the whole day. Very disappointed I was not called by anyone to let me know times have been changed the day before so I could talk to my work about changing the time I was out of the office. Terrible customer service. Make sure you read the fine print before completing your transaction because they won’t tell you when you check out. I learned the hard way but come to find out you only have 5 days after purchase to make any returns. After that you are stuck and totally out of pocket. Hard to believe that they are still in business. Totally overpriced and completely underwhelming experience. You are better off buying from Amazon.

Awful service. Our fireplace was repaired at our home and cleaned. Called them within 90 days to tell them wouldn't start at all. They told me that is pilot light went out by the "wind" then it would cost me another $225. The most common reason for a pilot light going out is poor gas feed to it. Needless to say, I wasted the initial $225 and my time. I did not want their lack of service anymore.

They were patient and professional. I did some research online for replacement fire place and all were aiming to up sale to a ventless which is more expensive.
After talking to a sales rep here they informed me that those systems get really and are more geared toward heavier winter climates.
We checked out all the gas's logs and made a decision one. We were never pushed to buy and had all our questions answered.
Installation was all within a month and a half. All estimates of materials were within the time frame that gave us.

BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS CO. I scheduled a repair a month before the appointment. They told me at the time they would be at my house at 12:30. When I called a couple days before the appointment, they said they would be there by 3:30. No one had contacted me before that about moving my appointment out. I waited until 4:00 and then I called them. They said a technician was on route. Waited until 5:00 and still no call. They never showed up. I left several messages with them, no phone call back, no excuse, no apology. Horrible Customer Service!!!

This business is terrible! Heed the warnings of other reviewers. We have been using them for years with good results but over the last two years the service has become deplorable. They do not even seem to care. I paid for service but the repair person did not fix the problem. When he came out again he was so disrespectful and condescending because I asked why all of a sudden he is saying I just need to buy a new fireplace. Zero explanation about what is wrong or why the pilot will light but then go out. It appears to be a short in the electrical system with everything else working. I believe they

Purchased a Hearthstone wood stove and blower. Blower did not work right out of the box (was never used or installed). No damage to box or blower through shipping. When asked about warranty, was told that it was covered but I would be charged for shipping of the new/replacement. Neither Hearthstone or Fireplace Man would cover shipping. I have no idea why they think I would want to take a chance on paying to have it shipped again-for all I know, they would send another faulty blower. Hearthstone stated it was in their warranty agreement. Please don't buy or do service from either of these companies

We recently purchased and installed a gas log set from the Fireplace Man and they did a great job and it looks beautiful. I had reached out to them to get a fireplace inspection and they sent a nice gentleman who has been doing this for 20 years. There was not any upselling done by anyone at this business, which I appreciated since another company quoted me $10,000 in repairs.
I went to their very busy showroom and was greeted right away. They took their time to show me everything I wanted to see, and answered all of my questions without being pushy. They have several beautiful log sets to choose

Our first visit from Joseph at the Fireplace Man was on 2/14/2020. He came in and found a melted control module which he replaced with an identical module from his truck. He moved the logs into a different configuration and attributed that as the reason for the fireplace overheating and melting. He left with the fireplace burning, but made a comment that the module was not making the several “click” noises that he expected to hear, but it was functioning so we paid for the call. After a deeply disappointing experience, we moved our service to Guardian Chimney Sweep, which was $100 less in price & absolutely lovely in their customer service.
The Fireplace Man sold our contractor an outdoor fireplace with a remote that never really worked. It required several repairs & at one point the homeowner Facetimed with a technician to repair it ourselves. Today we tried to schedule yet another repair. Unfortunately, The Fireplace Man is the only vendor in Houston for fireplace boxes from the best vendors and service on those boxes. The point of this review is to make people aware of the less-than-helpful attitude of this business and the real potential cost of this non-essential appliance.

Very expensive for very little help - did not communicate beforehand what could and couldn't be fixed, wouldn't schedule a follow-up visit despite promising to come back and do a cleaning the next 1-2 days, apparently they can't order certain parts (including the ones we need) due to deals with certain fireplace equipment companies, etc... Felt totally ripped off.

Update... Michelle who claims to be the owner is an arrogant, cussing, threatening person. She is also in my opinion a thief, who does not take accountability for her OWN quotes and actions. I ignored y'all reviews on the advice of my contractor. Do not do business with these people. They sold me the wrong product, yelled cussed and screamed at me and when I told her I was making a yelp review she told me she didn't give an "f" word about what people thought of her. Meanwhile, all I ask her to do was sell me a fireplace and the remote.

I have used The Fireplaceman many times in the past but never again. Four emails with Jennifer yesterday and she asked my address 3 separate times of which I sent it to her. Then today I get a call from Ashley who is taking over for Jennifer and needs dimensions of the fireplace. I call back and leave the information with someone for Ashley and get a call back telling me I need some different items that neither Ashley nor Jennifer mentioned. I asked the person I spoke to if she saw the pictures and email chains and all she wanted to do is tell me what I need without the whole picture. Sad

The place has been excruciating to deal with. They sold us a fireplace for $4500 that later on I found out we could have gotten for $2500 on amazon. But that aside, they installed it so badly that the remote shows so clearly. When we asked if we could return the remote as they didn’t put it behind the tray, they refused. When we suggested they add it to the back of the tray, they refused.
Additionally the fireplace is so dim and their response is the btu is low. Which when we got our plumber to come and check, it’s
