Cole's Bicycles was founded in 1940 by Leonard B. Cole as a music and gun shop. As World War II progressed and the need for economical transportation increased, the business started renting bicycles for 25 cents an hour. At the end of the war, as bicycles became available again, the store branched out and started selling bicycles.
Take 581 South to 81 South. Take exit 52 onto RT 11 South (Harrisburg Pike). N. Hanover St. After a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant and a long residential block, you'll cross a set of railroad tracks. We're located 1/2 block ahead on the left, opposite Cornerstone Credit Union. Take 81 North to the High Street Exit.
Our Second annual Ladies Night built on the success of our first event. Lindsey Bradley, Trek's Women's Fit Expert educated us on all things biking as it relates to ladies. Our Trek representative, Evan Pavlovic, was on hand to provide expert information on Trek Bicycles. With plenty of cheese, snacks, deserts, and a little wine, everyone seemed to really enjoy the gathering.
Our third annual Ladies Night was our best one yet. Almost 70 women participated in this informational gathering. We had lots of fun, shared a lot of new information, and taught over 20 women how to fix their bikes with our hands-on fix-a-flat clinic. Our vendors were generous with donations, so everyone went home with something.
Trek Bicycles specialiy ride for breast cancer proved to be a great time for our riders this year. We kicked off the event with coffee & tea, juice, and donuts. After a hearty breakfast, group leaders took participants on either a 10 or 20 mile ride, leaving from our parking lot. By the time they returned, we had a big lunch waiting for everyone.

I only wish their store had more selection - tires especially. Have used this store for purchasing bikes, I am very pleased by the prices but more by the competent fitting.
Repairs and tuneups have been cost effective and correctly done. They have retrieved hidden cables and unlocked frozen nuts as well as advised my home repairs. Their long history of service in Carlisle equips them to deal with new technologies and old classic issues.

Cole's bike shop is awesome for a unique selection of bikes for all ages, sizes, and needs. However, there best feature in my opinion, is their service department. They always have quick turn around. Charge a reasonable price that is adjusted appropriately depending on the needs of the customer and bike. They serviced my trike and built my son's BMX bike with superior quality and professionalism. Thank you Cole's bike shop for being awesome.

Nice bicycle shop that has been around for as long as I've lived in the area. (50 years) Have purchased a handful of bikes from them over the years and never had any problems. They also have a small gun shop downstairs in their shop. If in need of sales and service, would definitely recommend stopping in.

We needed a tube for a bike tire that was on a bike we'd purchased over 10 years' ago at Cole's, and Cinda patiently worked with us to get all the right numbers off the rim, find the tube and send it to us. We live in Virginia. I realized that we have bought more than 7 bikes and numerous helmets over 60 years through 4 generations of our family from Cole's, going back to the time my dad was stationed in Carlisle. The quality of service is still spectacular.

After trying to get a bike repaired at a big store bike 'department' I found Cole's. A true bike store. Everyone was great, they immediately found my issue and had it repaired quickly and at a great price! They called me with a status of the repair and when the repair was complete.
They kept the old parts and asked if I wanted them back. I haven't seen that in years and was a pleasant surprise.
I will be back for all my bike needs.

The people at Cole's have treated us so well when we've taken our kids' bikes in for little tune-ups that we knew there was no where else we wanted to go when it was time for a new bike. My daughter rode her bike for the first time and said, "Wow! It's so smooth." She can stop on a dime and has so much control with this bike. I never realized the quality difference of a good bike. She's so much safer riding her new bike. Thanks, Cole's! (Doll seat isn't from Cole's, but it's nice to know random accessories fit.)

Very kind and personable owners. I needed my bike repaired and they were able to see me and fix my bike in a couple hours. Mike took me into the repair side to see my bike in the stand and even explained a feature on my shifters I didn't know about. They take pride in their work and will stand behind it as well.

My kids are new to the NICA league. Bought several bikes over the years from them, and had outstanding service this time as well. I couldn't be happier with the knowledge and service offered by the staff. They have also been out to the practices to offer tips, training, and advice on maintenance and repair of bikes. As the local Trek dealer, they offer a wide selection of mountain bikes. I couldn't be happier with the service!

I stopped in to drop my wheels off to get trued up. The people where friendly and informative. The lady showed me how the machine worked and didnt rush me out. I visited the gun room in the basement and the gentleman was extremely knowlegable and informative. They have one of the largest assortments of military surplus rifles that i have seen in a long time. The gentleman talked to me for a good 30 mins and each weapon had a story. I have recently gotten into bicycling and have gone to Cole's a couple times now for repairs, parts and even for their Pink Mechanic event, held in the shop with a hundred other ladies, eager to learn the importance of knowing your bicycle and other factors to make your ride comfortable and enjoyable. These folks really know their business! Every person there is very knowledgeable and super friendly and their prices are very reasonable. It's obvious the thing they care most about is making the customer happy.

I went to Cole's with my grandmother to make copies of her house keys made. An employee there was wonderful to us. She saw my grandma was walking with a cane and immediately asked if we'd a like a chair for my grandma while we waited. This was so helpful and thoughtful. She also told us that if you park in the back lot and come in the back entrance (instead of coming in from the street and the front door) there are no steps if we wanted an easier entrance for the future. Also, she recognized that my grandma was wrong about which key she thought was a storm door key. She said she was pretty
