Joseph Cristoforo, DDS
Dr. Cristoforo, Madison's most experienced periodontist, has been providing expert care in periodontics, dental implants, and other oral surgical services for over 25 years. We believe that your right to choose a dentist is an important freedom. We work closely with your dentist, but a referral by a dentist is not required to visit our office.
Services
Dr. Cristoforo and his staff work tirelessly to provide you with important periodontal services. A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of problems that affect the gums and other supporting tissues of the teeth. If you want to keep your teeth for life - a completely reasonable goal in this day and age - you need to make sure the tissues that surround them are also healthy.
Dr. Cristoforo moved to Wisconsin from Garden City, New York, and in 2015 merged his practice with Dr. Kenneth Neidhart. He was drawn to the Madison area by the opportunity to practice in a high-level clinical environment, working together with other doctors to provide optimal patient care. His primary professional interests are the treatment of periodontal disease, dental implants, and dental esthetics.
Our goal is to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed, not only during your appointment, but in any communication with us at Dental Implant and Periodontal Specialists. To ensure your convenience, all of our contact information is as follows. Please do not hesitate to contact us with inquiries about your care, appointment scheduling, billing, and more.
Of all the ways modern dentistry has to replace missing teeth, dental implants are by far the best. There is no tooth-replacement option that will give you a longer-lasting result. Implants also help preserve tooth-supporting bone that naturally deteriorates when a tooth is lost. Loss of bone is one of the major hidden consequences of losing teeth.
It is not a given that we must lose teeth as we age. If we maintain good oral hygiene and have regular professional cleanings and oral examinations, chances are we can keep our natural teeth for life. That involves not only caring for the teeth themselves, but also the structures that surround them: the gums and tooth-supporting bone.
