I am ecstatic about my visit with Dr. Vital. I was losing my sight as a result of diabetic cataracts. Dr. V's office treated me like family and their wisdom is simply incredible. I was totally at ease. After my surgery, I simply found myself in tears as a result of finally being able to see my face, as well as my wife's and children's faces.
I felt as though I had received a new prize in life! Thank YOU so much for what YOU do. Even though it's your profession, and you've experienced this for years, this was the first time in my life that I've experienced this limitation. I didn't know how much I missed my eyesight! Blessings to all of YOU!

If you think of your eye like a camera, the lens of the eye is similar to the lens of a camera. The lens helps to focus the light that hits the retina, or film of the camera. The lens is about the size and shape of a peanut M&M. In this M&M model, the colored candy coating is the capsule that stays in place to hold the new intraocular lens (IOL) and the chocolate is the part that is removed.

The eye is an amazing organ for its ability to collect visual information from outside the body and transmit it to the brain for us to see the world around us. Although most of the time we have the luxury of taking this complex process for granted, all that changes when eye problems occur. In order for light to enter the eye, it must be able to pass through the clear dome on the front of the eye, the cornea.
Ocular surface disease describes any number of problems that can occur on the surface, or cornea, of the eye. Most ocular surface diseases can start out as simply irritating but can increase in severity over time. The most common eye problems affiliated with ocular surface disease are infections, oil, inflammation, and dryness.
