Since 1977 Blossom Grocery has been providing the residents of Lopez Island the best possible foods and household products. We do this by collaborating with producers and suppliers to meet the unique needs of our place. Our professional staff connect customers with products in a clean and accessible marketplace.
Our work strengthens and enhances the health and well-being of our customers as well as local and sustainable food economies. We're the 'ride your horse to work' type people. Seriously though, Brian Kvistad, the owner and operator of Blossom Grocery, has dedicated his life to his love for healthy, whole foods in more ways than you'd think.

Services
We're working quickly to list new items on the site and enable more useful features, so check back often! If you require home delivery and are currently a client of Lopez Island Senior Services or the Lopez Island Family Resource Center (or believe you would qualify to become a client), please contact those agencies to make arrangements.
Our Special Orders program is designed to give you access to our entire catalog of available items. Additionally, if you order case or bulk quantities, we can usually provide a 15% discount off the regular retail price. Our Buyers will hunt down the product and get it ordered on our next order to the relevant supplier.

We stayed on Lopez for two nights and Vita's Wildly Delicious was the only option on the second night other than the Islander (not on our list at all, due to some negative reviews) and the grocery store.
We went to Blossom and picked up a bottle of nice wine and two big Holly B cookies (I need this recipe) to go with the meal. The checker convinced me the cookies wouldn't last the night! Haha... She was super nice.

Blossom has always been our fave! They are blowing our minds with their innovative way to protect us and protect the supply chain. Just had to post a review today because they have become online order only and they package and send out boxed groceries on a delivery system through the front that is the safest for everyone. Building and supporting a system for us all in such a short space of time is an incredible feat. On this tiny island every resource is necessary and keeping our food stores open is the most important. Because there are so few that can safely work on Lopez (a mostly elderly community

This is the only "fully" natural foods store on Lopez. So, I end up shopping here often and spending a lot of money as its rather pricey. What gets me is the lack of friendliness and poor service I often receive. Sporadically there are nice people working who will (gasp) say hello when you check out, but all too often there is no greeting and no thank you. Bad service anywhere and especially here where it is supposed to be the "friendly isle."
Also, this past winter a close friend dog sat for us while we were away, and he told us the owner literally followed him around

A small, pleasant, and welcoming natural-foods alternative to the Lopez Village Market, the main store on the island.
Blossom's main focus is on healthy foods and local products. In addition to a variety of goods made in the Pacific NW and California, Blossom carries the island's own Barn Owl Bakery's marvelous breads and pastries, along with the truly excellent organic produce grown on Lopez Island's Horse Drawn Farm. Yes, some items at Blossom can be pricey, but the store carries items you can't find anywhere else. Blossom also offers weekly sales.

Given the isolated location and limited selection of groceries on the island this store represents a breath of fresh air. High-quality products and a wide variety of vegan offerings in addition to freshly baked bread on Tuesdays you will find a large array of items in a relatively small store.
Expect higher than normal prices in large part due to the island location.

New location is bigger but doesn't change much. Blossom is where the bourgeoisie of the island shop and things are priced accordingly. Imagine Whole Foods, but without a real competitor to keep prices sane. Selection is focused on Pacific Northwest and California based products, so your food miles are low. It's a decent place but it is very hard to access food from there daily unless you are monied. Great beer selection, but of course it's spendy.
