Huma Yoga
My introduction to yoga and meditation was a humbling experience. I am not a former dancer or a gymnast. When I took my first beginners yoga class, I could not touch my toes in any forward bend poses and felt intimated. The magic of yoga is that if you have the right teacher, you quickly learn that there is no competition in yoga and that it is all about the relationship between you and your own body.

You learn to enjoy the path rather than focusing on an end result. You learn to be present and ultimately achieve a peaceful mindset on and off your mat. In order to access this state, I had to rewire my brain. Yoga and mediation gave me the tools to do that. As a corporate executive and business owner working grueling hours, I had associated my happiness and self worth with the success I achieved as a CEO.

I would HIGHLY recommend Huma as a yoga and meditation teacher and specifically her retreats.
In March 2020, I attended a 6 day yoga and meditation retreat led by Huma in Costa Rica. This experience was restorative, enlightening and lots of fun. Our group was a mix of people from all over the world and all different ages and skill levels. Huma created a friendly and inclusive environment which made everyone feel comfortable, whether they had come solo or with a friend or family member.
In terms of the actual yoga, I have been practicing for over a decade and felt the quality of instruction was

I discovered Huma after a lot of trial and error, having recently moved to Newport Beach from New York and searching desperately for a new studio. It took me 8 months but so happy I finally found her at Ekam Yoga. I take her 90-minute vinyasa flow every Sunday morning and it adds some sanity back to my weekend. I also take her 60-minute hot vinyasa on Wednesday mornings. Her classes are challenging enough that I get a nice workout but also allow for me to relax and really focus on my practice. She is incredibly patient, intelligent, and inspirational.
I even followed her to Costa Rica on a yoga

I went to Huma's yoga retreat this year and it really exceeded my expectations! She is an excellent yoga teacher in all regards. I enjoyed her pace, tone, technique, choice of music and communication during practice. She also brings yogic principles founded in Buddhism to the practice which I found unique and genuine. Huma has a background in yoga therapy which always made me feel safe in that she understands anatomy and alignment which is hugely important for avoiding injuries and bettering your practice. Huma is someone I regard as a mentor and I believe that is one of the reasons I fell in love

Huma is a wonderful yoga instructor. I joined her one week retreat in Costa Rica in early March. This was my 4th time in Costa Rica. I was so pleasantly surprised about the amazing place she chose for her retreat. It was a total heaven from the yoga platform we practiced under trees with birds to the 1-minute walk to the beach!
She was very attentive to every detail from our arrivals to all the delicious food which were offered to us at the beach every night. We had two yoga classes every day. She was able to customize her class to participants’ different levels of yoga level. She is a very

I had the pleasure to attend Huma Yoga Retreat last march in Costa Rica. It was a fantastic experience. The setting was unbeatable, beach, ocean breeze and sound when practicing and great sunsets for meditation. There were 2 practices a day, the morning vinyasa and evening restorative. Huma was a wonderful teacher, give tons of adjustments and help you make the most of your practice. Her voice and guidance was fantastic. I am not experienced yogi, and she made sure that I made the most out of my practice. In addition to being a great yoga coach, she is such a kind and wonderful human. I very much

I am very pleased to discover Huma's consciously crafted Vinyasa, restorative and yogalaltes(shwew!) practices. Guided by her kind voice and explicitly detailed explanations for micro adjustments, I remember that my body is strong and healthy. I am particularly comforted by the bridging of her spiritual and physically therapeutic knowledge of yoga. I enjoy contemplating her offerings of inspirational readings and being fortified through prompted thought, breath, movement and music. Thank You Huma!

Amazing experience! Thanks Huma for helping me reconnect my body and my soul. Disconnecting in nature and reconnecting with myself while sharing with an amazing group the experience. I will be there next Time again. Yoga is not about the poses but about the intention and balance in your life. I came back to the crazy covid19 world ready to continue the journey.

I went to Huma's class at Ekam Yoga at Newport Beach, LA. The facilities were very nice, but Huma was amazing. The flow of her Vinyasa was flawless and effortless. The class had experts and newbies, yet everybody was able to follow the instructions to the extent of their abilities. Huma moved to every part of the room and demonstrated the moves as she spelled out the instructions.

I highly recommend Huma's class.
