Since a very young age, Samantha Chmielewski has been honing her creative skills. She always loved to create new things with all kinds of different mediums. Now, over 20 years later, she still has a love for art. In 2007, she graduated from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland with a degree in Science and Business, and began her career in chemistry.
At the same time, she decided she needed a new hobby. After watching some cake shows on television, she decided to give it a shot, and hasn't looked back since. With her diverse background in 3D figure modeling, sculpting, painting, and her husband's knack for construction, Samantha is able to push her cake designs well beyond any ordinary cake and deliver true masterpieces.

Services
We love to design cakes for your special event! We cater to all types of events from birthdays to bar mitzvahs! Our prices start at $5 per person for buttercream cakes, and $6 per person for fondant cakes, with a minimum order of $50. Since all of our cakes are made to order we like to have a two week lead time.
Our mini desserts make a stunning dessert display sure to delight and allure of your guests. Mini desserts are everyones favorite treats in a small compact box. We love working with our clients to design beautiful, one-of-a-kind dessert buffets for any occasion. We offer a variety of different mini desserts to choose from.
How much time in advance do I need to book my cake? We like to have about 6 months notice to book a custom wedding cake and 1-2 weeks for custom specialty cakes. We can provide rush orders, if we have the date open. If I want an over-the-top design, can you create it? Sure, no problem! We can sit down with you and draw up some sketches to create your dream cake.

We ordered our wedding cake and it was beautiful. However it was dry, the wrong flavor and underwhelming. We did a tasting and the cake and flavors were delicious, so we had high expectations for the day of wedding cake. My husband was an executive chef for 25 years so he is hard to impress and when he lived this cake, as did I we were extremely happy with what we ordered. We ordered 2 tier 6" vanilla cake with blackberry between the layers and vanilla buttercream and the 10" layer was vanilla cake with strawberry layer and cheesecake buttercream. We did change the top layer to chocolate

Sweet Eats Cakes was the BEST to have at my wedding! They have a wide selection and variety of both desserts and flavors, they had everything set up beautifully, and of course it tasted delicious. I love my wedding cake and am so glad I opted to have them provide a dessert table.

When my wedding cake bakery permanently closed during the pandemic, I had to find a new bakery for my rescheduled wedding, and I was on a time crunch. Samantha was so great to work with, meeting with me virtually so I could get the cake ordered so I didn't need to make an extra trip to Havre de Grace. Our cake was incredible, and everyone loved it. And my gluten-free family and friends were so excited about the gluten-free cupcakes!

August 27 was my daughter's 18th birthday. Her favorite cake is Carrot Cake. I called Sweet Eats Cakes early in the week and asked if the could make a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. The person I spoke to assured me that they could do this. I picked up the cake Friday afternoon. When we served it, it became clear that the cake was iced with Butter Cream, not Cream Cheese. The cake itself was tasty.

I recently purchased a order of cake pops, & Cupcakes “Chanel” Themed. I really enjoyed the taste, However I think my design that I asked for should have been executed a little better. So I was a little disappointed especially with it being my Birthday 🎂 🎉. Maybe I should have just order a cake & it would have came out better!

I hate to be a negative Nellie but I was disappointed in the service here.
I sent a picture giving an idea of what I wanted for a cake. There wasn’t really any communication after then but to ask what flavor cake I wanted.
I didn’t get any photo of the completed cake until after it was delivered. The cake had an error on it and it was too late to fix it. I got no apology nor any kind of refund.
The cake itself was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary and for what I paid for the cake I expected it to be absolutely delicious. It was dry and melted quickly in the sun( not their fault of course)

I sent a picture as an idea of what I wanted. I assumed there would be a follow up email or phone call asking more detail what exactly I wanted.
I never got a picture of the finished cake before it was delivered. There were mistakes on it and basically was told they went off the picture I sent.
Shouldn't they have confirmed before making cake or AT LEAST sent me a picture confirming I liked it before delivering the expensive cake?
I hope to at least be offered

We presented Samantha with a very tall order for my daughter's wedding cake~Irish theme with lots of shamrocks, flowers, and a rustic, elegant charm. She absolutely nailed it! This great bakery located in the heart of historic Havre de Grace, MD has lots to offer. Stop in for one of their cake pops, cookies (snickerdoodle my personal favorite), chocolate covered pretzels, ice cream (in season) and of course cake! Comfortable seating if you want to stay and relax or grab and go strolling around town!

My wife got me a cake for my 30th birthday and it was amazing not only in how the design was so accurate and realistic but the cake itself was so delicious. The best cake I've ever had! Very reasonable priced as well. I would highly recommend for all of your cake needs. I will be using them for my cake needs

Samantha did my wedding cake and it was so much more amazing than I could have ever imagined. It turned out so beautiful and everyone was so impressed by it! Not only was the cake beautiful but Samantha worked so hard to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it and communicated with me through the whole process. It also tasted amazing! I cannot say enough good things!

I tried a piece of a cake from Sweet Eats Cakes and it was so good I ordered one for my daughters bridal shower! Picking up tomorrow...fingers crossed its just as good!
The cake was very good. But they didnt have it in a box, just on a cardboard tray. Didnt even cover it...and wouldnt. Had to stop and buy some saran wrap to cover it for the ride home.
