The Estate At River Run

My husband and I chose the Estate at River Run for our wedding venue the first day we visited. You can try to look at pictures but it won't capture the true beauty of the property and the feeling you get when you arrive. Kim, the owner, greeted us with a smile and treated us with a constant open door policy any time we had a question or needed to stop by prior to the wedding. Our wedding day was absolutely incredible and our guests loved the ability to sip a cocktail on the terrace, dance in the ballroom or have a quiet conversation in one of the many ornate rooms. We held a small wedding luncheon at River Run. It was a unique experience in a unique setting! Even though our event was small, Bill handled every detail with care and attention. He anticipated our needs and accommodated our requests. We highly recommend RR as a memorable event venue and not just for a wedding. I can see celebrating a special birthday or anniversary there!

The place is absolutely gorgeous however my family had the venue for a wedding last night—
It was a bit surprising that we were asked to keep our noise down at 7 PM
We were not a very boisterous crowd. It was very annoying to be asked not to use the mic when talking to the crowd in the front of the house during a family members introduction ceremony at 7 PM
We were asked to turn off the mic - apparently the property is sitting on
65 acres of land, i am sure the train behind the property was a lot louder than us talking on the mic
Ridiculous that we had to speak to the crowd without the mic

River Run is an incredible estate perfect for any event including corporate events, weddings, or a fun day with your friends and family. What I love about River Run is that it’s not something that you can find anywhere else and it provides a very private yet elegant experience that is only available at the Estate at River Run. The management is also spectacular and they genuinely care about everyone who walks through their doors.

My friend and I toured the Estate at River Run during the Thursday Happy Hour Tour last night hosted by the Director of Business Development, Bill Gilliam. I was completely blown away by the beauty of the estate both outside on the grounds and especially the inside. Bill's tour was informative and professional; throughout each room he shared different ways one could rent/use the space whether it be for business events/meetings, personal events (birthday, hosting a thanksgiving, etc.) and of course weddings. His explanation of each room made me really see how each different type of event could unfold

I have been fortunate enough to spend time at River Run and I am so pleased to see it is in wonderful hands to provide phenomenal wedding and event experiences. It is truly a breath-taking location and one of the most exquisite homes in Virginia. I have also been fortunate enough to know Bill Gilliam for well over 20 years. Anyone working with him will have their expectations exceeded - Bill is the consummate event professional who knows all the details to make any event perfect! On our recent visit, we enjoyed local wines as we toured the home and grounds.....even on a rainy evening it was stunning

The Estate at River Run is the perfect venue if you are looking for a space to hold an event that is intimate and elegant. The space is versatile and can accommodate for most situations. It is place that can be a private retreat for families, weddings, or business events alike. The view is amazing and unrivaled. Best of all the management is there to assist and accommodate as needed. A fantastic venue in all facets!

It's been a month and I still can't find the perfect words to describe how magical our day at River Run was this past February. We married in the ballroom in late afternoon, with the sun filtering in through the gorgeous yawning windows. My husband played the estate's grand piano for me as I walked down the aisle, and so many loved ones filled the warm space with smiles (and a few tears). And as elegant and grandiose as the manor may be, at no point did it feel stifling or inaccessibly fancy.
