My niece picked this place. It was in the middle of nowhere, which is great. We were in cabin 1 and it had plenty of room for 5 of us. They even lent my niece's husband a fishing rod. We kind of left in a hurry and like the absent minded person I am, I left my jacket. I let them know and they mailed it to me. How cool is that??!! Thanks a bunch!

These guys are super irresponsible. They have been guiding out of Trapper Lake, using locals' land areas without permission and leaving fires smoldering, it's beyond disrespectful; it's dangerous and it puts in jeopardy the safety and welfare of the people who live on that lake. Please use another service--they have no respect for our beautiful state or the people who live here. There are many wonderful guides who know how to treat our State with the love and respect it deserves--these guides are not one of them.
Re: owner's response--glad you worked out the property issue--what about the fire

We spent over $4,000 for 6 fisherman.
We were promised 3 rafts as 4 of the 6 were beginners.
We waited at the air taxi office for 45 minutes, as instructed, and finally called to find out they were at a different location.
When we met up we were told that they only had 2 rafts making fishing for beginners very difficult.
As a result, 3 of the 6 did not catch any fish.
On top of that the waders they gave my wife leaked.
The only bright spot was that we had a great guy for our guide.

Anyone wishing to use Dave Fish Alaska River Guides please do yourself a favor and pick someone else. We were a party of four that used Dave for a day of fishing. We found that this service was very inexperienced in fishing the local area, there equipment was in poor condition. Within 30 minutes of going down a river our raft capsized and we nearly all drowned including the guide. We lost all our personal equipment, we went for medical attention for needed emergencies. Dave told us no problem he or his insurance company would reimburse us for are out of pocket expenses. It’s been over a year

A great little cabin in the woods close to Talkeetna. The shared bathrooms are pristine! We had a great night of sleep before continuing on our journey. And internet was surprisingly good considering the location.

Let me begin by saying our guide, Nathan, was amazing! I would give him 6 stars if I could. He worked so extremely hard to make sure we caught fish and had a good time despite the fact it hadn't rained in 3 weeks and the river was extremely low. It was really too low to float or fish. The cabin we stayed in was also great. We really liked it. It was very clean and had all the amenities we expected plus more. I didn't expect to have cell phone service or wi-fi, but we had both there.
The reason I left a 4 star review, instead of 5 is because I feel like Mr. Fish could have done a better job of

We asked Dave to organize a helicopter fishing trip for a group of us last summer stuck at a lodge that had poor fishing conditions. He was happy to do it short notice. When he billed us, we understood why. Other than booking the chopper and coming on the trip himself and perhaps baiting a couple of hooks, he provided zero services. No food, no drinks, nothing. The guides from our camp came along with us at our cost and provided most of the services. The trip started around 8 am and was over by 2 or 3. We expected to pay him a guide fee and cover the cost of the chopper's hourly rate

Pretty modest accommodations, even buy Alaskan standards. Stayed the week and the cottage with a bathroom. For small Cottages are dry. For a few hundred dollars invested, could be improved a lot. Needed pots and pans that work i.e. lids did fit the pots. Oven didn't work. Had to get in touch with the owners , as the outdoor gas grill is lacking a tank . That issue was handled, after a phone call. Needed more shelving and more hooks, for hanging clothes and fishing gear. Two seater couch was for looks only.
