Dr. Nicole Sucre
People are often faced with uncertainty, a constricted sense of possibility, a feeling of aloneness, and fears of an anticipated but unknown future. It can be difficult to experience hope and access our own capacities for resilience in situations beyond our control. Protect the dignity of your unique lives and values throughout the course of your illness.

Resilience does not mean being unaffected by the anxieties and losses of living with a serious illness. It does not mean never struggling, never needing others, never having to let go, never being vulnerable. Resilience is, even as we struggle, engaging in the process of finding how to hope and how to live even when what we thought we needed to hope and to live is not a certainty or not possible anymore.

Dr. Nicole Sucre is a caring and insightful psychotherapist who helped me deal with my anxiety and sense of hopelessness after being diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disease. She helped me understand my feelings and behavior. As a result of my work with her, I learned to be gentler with myself and I gained more confidence that I could navigate the road ahead even though it was not the future I had expected. Dr. Sucre’s experience in dealing with people with life-altering diagnoses combined with her compassion make her a very special psychotherapist.

Dr. Sucre comes off as being nice at first but you quickly find out she has basically no patience and doesn't actually really care. She essentially gave up on me after the first session and said I was hopeless. She is really a mean person and has no compassion or empathy for how difficult chronic illness is.

Fear, anxiety, and a sense of hopelessness followed my diagnosis of Parkinson’s. Determined not to permit this disease to define me and to damage the loving relationship I have with my partner, I looked for a psychotherapist who specializes in working with people with life changing health issues. I am fortunate because a very special therapist entered my life, Dr. Nicole Sucre. She is knowledgeable, insightful, understanding, and compassionate. She helped me appreciate and understand how earlier experiences and trauma were impacting my current response to my disease. My work with her enabled

You are the problem with the medical and mental health fields today. Everything that is wrong with healthcare, all of the many thousands of problems can be summed up by how you choose to practice and treat your patients many of whom like me are suffering and are at the end of their rope and considering ending everything as I still do today as my situation has worsened dramatically and you have a responsibility because the way you treated me and what you did to me has created immense trauma and damage to me. You treated me like i was worthless and could never get any help or get better. Like I had

Dr. Sucre is the most kind, empathetic, thoughtful, compassionate, skilled psychotherapist I have ever known. And, due to issues in my childhood, I have been seeing therapists for 37 years, so I know whereof I speak. My ten year old daughter died in 2008 and my father passed suddenly 6 months later of complications from a disease I now have...and it is advanced and progressive. I have lost my career, my voice (singer) the company of friends, family. I started therapy with Dr. Sucre 4.5 years ago and she SAVED MY LIFE. I am now nearly bedridden; certainly a "shut in," and if it wasn't for Dr. Sucre

Unfortunately the majority of reviews written on here are from associates or colleagues closely associated with Dr. Sucre. I have even contacted google about this and they have also acknowledged the suspicious pattern since the posting of one negative review. The truth about Dr. Sucre is that she is cold hearted, incompetent and just downright very unpleasant. She has no business being in the field of mental health and the way she treated me greatly worsened my symptoms of suicidality and hopelessness. She acts like she has zero care of your well being and would not even take the time to answer

Nicole is simply the BEST! She brings an amazing balance to her work: astute and powerful clinical knowledge, experienced skill, spot-on intuition, and a deep warmth, regard and caring for her clients. I learn so much from her, and the field is lucky to have someone of her caliber in its ranks. Palliative care is an arena where it is tough to find excellent, informed and effective therapy. It is either over-medicalized and under-emotionally intelligent, or emotionally intelligent but under-educated/experienced with the complexities of the medical world. Nicole has both sides mastered, and is a

Dr. Sucre is the absolute best. She provided extraordinary help to me during one of my darkest times. I went to see Dr. Sucre after 18 months of being my wife’s primary caregiver. I was totally exhausted and anguished over my wife’s lung disease and her decline.
Due to Dr. Sucre’s exceptional skill, compassion, empathy and solid advice, I was able to find the added capacity in myself that I desperately needed. It came just in time. My wife died six months later. I am so grateful for what Dr. Sucre did for me, my wife and my entire family.
