Our practice consists of a team of dedicated professionals who always go the extra mile to give the best optometry care possible. In 1971, Dr. John M. Nevelow graduated from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry. After his residency, Dr. Nevelow opened a community family practice in San Antonio.
In an effort to make you more comfortable when you arrive at our office and to streamline the new patient process, you will be able to complete all the necessary items prior to your first visit. At Nevelow Eye Associates, we strive to make sure the time we spend with you during your visit is quality time.
The knowledgeable staff at Nevelow Eye Associates is experienced in working with vision insurance providers. We will work directly with you and your vision insurer to submit claims regarding your vision care. We strive to ensure that you understand your insurance coverage and will answer any questions you may have regarding your benefits.

I was a new customer to this office, I have never had an eye exam before. Dr.Nevelow was nice in the beginning of our appointment, then seemed to get irritated with me towards the end. She moved very fast and it was my first eye exam EVER so I didn't know what to expect. I felt that she could have been more patient than she was. Also I saw MAJOR HIPAA violations-she left an unlocked screen with all her patients for the day and info on them...including mine.
The lady who helped purchase my glasses was extremely nice -had a ponytail with straight hair.

If I could leave -5 stars I would. Go anywhere but this place. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. They told me they took my insurance I asked them to double check on the phone before I ever came in. They had over a half hour before I saw the doctor while I sat in the office to check on that insurance they had a copy of the insurance card, and ample time to figure out they didn't take my Federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Instead after an hour and a half of being there, the receptionist informed me they didn't take my insurance & wanted payment for $245. I told her my yearly
